This is very beautiful powerful fall on Lewis river. It is better to photograph it when the water is low. I was there last Monday. The water was very high , and the current very strong. I even can't imagine what it looks like now after all those heavy rainstorms we've been having recently.

A poppy is a flowering plant in the subfamily Papaveroideae of the family Papaveraceae. Poppies are herbaceous plants, often grown for their colourful flowers. One species of poppy, Papaver somniferum, is the source of the narcotic drug opium which contains powerful medicinal alkaloids such as morphine and has been used since ancient times as an analgesic and narcotic medicinal and recreational drug. It also produces edible seeds. Following the trench warfare in the poppy fields of Flanders, Belgium during World War I, poppies have become a symbol of remembrance of soldiers who have died during wartime. Poppies are herbaceous annual, biennial or short-lived perennial plants. Some species are monocarpic, dying after flowering. Poppies can be over a metre tall with flowers up to 15 centimetres across. Flowers of species (not cultivars) have 4 to 6 petals, many stamens forming a conspicuous whorl in the center of the flower and an ovary of from 2 to many fused carpels. The petals are showy, may be of almost any color and some have markings. 12154

The Jaguar XK150 is a sports car produced by Jaguar between 1957 and 1961 as the successor to the XK140.
Initially it was only available in fixed head coupé (FHC) and drophead coupé (DHC) versions. The roadster without full weather equipment which had begun the XK line was launched as the XK150 OTS (open two-seater) in 1958. Minimal rear seats were fitted in the coupés. The open two-seater was fitted for the first time with wind-up windows in taller high-silled doors, but retained the very simple folding roof of its predecessors.
History
Announced in its home market in May 1957 the XK150 bore a family resemblance to the XK120 and XK140 but was radically revised. Most visibly, a one-piece windscreen replaced the split screen, and the wing line carried higher and more streamlined at the doors. The widened bonnet opened down to the wings, and on the coupés the windscreen frame was moved forward 4 inches (102 mm) to make passenger access easier. The car was available at various times in Red, Pearl Grey, White, Indigo Blue, Claret, Cotswold Blue, Black, Mist Grey, Sherwood Green, Carmen Red, British Racing Green, Cornish Grey, and Imperial Maroon.
The XK150's dashboard came trimmed in leather, with walnut optional on all models. On the early drophead coupés, the aluminum center dash panel, which was discontinued after June 1958, had an X pattern engraving similar to the early 3.8 E-Type. Thinner doors gave more interior space. A little red light reminded the driver that the front parking lights, located atop the wings (fenders), were on.
Suspension and chassis were very similar to the XK140, with manual-only rack and pinion steering. The 3.4 litre DOHC straight-6 XK engine was similar to the XK140's, but a new "B" type cylinder head raised power to 180 SAE bhp at 5750 rpm.

The first closed and convertible XK150s were slower than their predecessors. After a twelve-month delay caused by the February 1957 factory fire, this deficit was corrected in the spring of 1958 with the March release of special equipment models fitted with disc brakes and more powerful SE engine. Twin 1.75-inch (44 mm) SU HD6 carburetors and a modified B type cylinder head with larger exhaust valves improved performance to 210 SAE bhp at 5500 rpm. While most export cars were SE models, a third option for the open two-seater featured an "S" engine with three 2-inch (51 mm) SU HD8 carburetors and a straight-port cylinder head boosting power to a claimed 250 SAE bhp.
In 1960 the 220 hp (164 kW; 223 PS) 3.8 liter engine fitted in the full-sized luxury Mark IX saloon since October 1958 became available. It was tuned to produce up to 265 hp (198 kW; 269 PS) in S models and propel an XK150 to 135 mph (217 km/h) and from 0–60 mph in around 7.0 seconds. Fuel economy was 18mpg. Four-wheel Dunlop 12 in (305 mm) disc brakes appeared for the first time as an option. Factory specification 6.00 × 16 inch Dunlop Road Speed tires or optional 185VR16 Pirelli Cinturato CA67 radials could be fitted on either 16 × 5K½ solid wheels or optional 16 × 5K wire wheels.

( their liquid lifes , catch their movements, their longs dream…)
Secretly they slip into their liquid lifes...
Behind them a powerful light catch their movements.
After this, they will come up to their longs dream...

Secretamente eles resvalam dentro das suas vidas líquidas...
Por detrás deles uma luz poderosa prende-lhes os movimentos.
Depois disto irão subir para seus longos sonhos...

This shot was taken later in the afternoon than the other two pictures I posted of these powerful monsters!
That’s the last of my wind turbine shots... for the moment at least!
On to pastures new next time!
While walking through the Nature Center once again, the cougar was taking a nap inside of the shaded box provided within the enclosure. As we approached, the eyes opened, peering back into the ground that had come to see the ghost of the forest. Silent, powerful, invisible, yet on display for us to admire here. It watched us from the shade, hearing the camera clicks, and watching the lenses as we meandered a bit, trying to find the composition we wanted, this is my attempt.

But the more powerful point of the contrapasso that attaches appropriate schemes of punishment to different species of sin is that your condition in Hell conforms exactly to the shape and form of your own desires,14 of those desires of yours acting upon which got you there in the first place. In that sense you make your own Hell for yourself.

The wide angle lens is probably the most often used, but also misused, lens in landscape photography. It is a powerful lens, as long as it is used with forethought and for the right scenes. In my article I share with you useful tips for composing powerful wide angle images and I hope it encourages you to go out there and capture the beauty! Please feel free to read the article at this link. I hope you enjoy!

Wednesday night's sunset....I was prepping the pool for closure this upcoming weekend while keeping an eye on the sky. It got to about 7PM and I figured we might get a good one. It was windy this evening so a reflection with a pond was out of the question with too much water movement. So I had this shot that I imagined a couple weeks back that I would use when I have little time to decide where to go. So I packed my gear and headed to this location and was not disappointed with the sunset. It was a little weird standing under these power lines for about 45 minutes listening to the sizzle and pop when that much electricity flows through these lines.
Yes..... it was that bright with the yellows and oranges.
