Wednesday night's sunset....I was prepping the pool for closure this upcoming weekend while keeping an eye on the sky. It got to about 7PM and I figured we might get a good one. It was windy this evening so a reflection with a pond was out of the question with too much water movement. So I had this shot that I imagined a couple weeks back that I would use when I have little time to decide where to go. So I packed my gear and headed to this location and was not disappointed with the sunset. It was a little weird standing under these power lines for about 45 minutes listening to the sizzle and pop when that much electricity flows through these lines.

Yes..... it was that bright with the yellows and oranges.

Large and powerful falcon; slightly smaller and more slender than Saker Falcon. Adults have a gray back and pale orangish hindcrown and nape. Juveniles are dark brown above and well-streaked below, and can be easily confused with Saker and Peregrine Falcons; note unstreaked “trousers” and very heavy streaking on the underwings and underparts. Inhabits a wide range of habitats, from forested hills to arid canyons and open grasslands. Call is a typical falcon scream.

A powerful rare earth magnet is hidden in the base. Each time the hourglass is turned over, a different pattern is formed as the tiny ferrous balls are drawn into the magnetic field.

Hverir is a lunar-like landscape of mud cauldrons, steaming vents, radiant mineral deposits and piping fumaroles. Belching mudflaps and the powerful stench of sulphur may not sound enticing, but Hverir’s ethereal allure grips every passer-by.

Not a huge fan of pylons tainting the nature, so guess we have to work with them at times. They're really effective in this image though. 😊

The final image of my little series of the European Bison does not need a lot of words I suppose. A majestic and powerful animal whose pure presence in its natural habitat leaves you awestruck, feeling tiny and weak…

La sittelle torchepot (Sitta europaea), passereau de la famille des Sittidés. Les oiseaux de cette famille peuvent descendre et grimper le long d'un tronc d'arbre, tête en bas, grâce à leurs griffes puissantes.

The Eurasian nuthatch (Sitta europaea), a passerine bird of the Sittidae family. Birds of this family can climb up and down tree trunks, head down, thanks to their powerful talons.

El trepador azul (Sitta europaea) es un ave paseriforme de la familia Sittidae. Las aves de esta familia pueden trepar por los troncos de los árboles, cabeza abajo, gracias a sus poderosas garras.

The most powerful natural antibiotic ever,my great-grandmother told me that. :)

DISTINCTIVE AND NOISY WADER, seen at the top of the cliffs on Skokholm, off South West Wales, being protective as he must have had a young one in the area. They use that powerful bill to feed on mollusks and other invertebrates.

A totally amazing evening with a sky full of aurora borealis.

I think this sky was meant for me, because today I really needed it.

Thank god, for all the good people in my life and a fantastic show in the heaven!

Bison injure more visitors than any other animal in Yellowstone, including grizzly bears (Ursus arctos horribilis), and there is typically at least one incident every year, according to NPS. During attacks, bison commonly charge at people and gore them with their horns, before throwing them into the air with their powerful neck muscles. But surprisingly, despite the animals' incredible strength and size, these attacks are rarely fatal and are likely just a warning shot from the animals.

The Gullfoss waterfall is perhaps the most famous and stunning waterfall in all of Iceland. This water spectacle can be found on the Golden Circle and is created by the glacial river Hvítá. A busy spot of natural disaster that you should not miss during your tour through the land of fire and ice. This waterfall is also called golden waterfall because of the floating mist and is no less than 20 meters wide, 70 meters deep and the gorge that follows is 2.5 kilometers (!) Long. If you look closely you will see that the water at Gulfoss does not fall all at once, but gradually hits the gorge......

Quarter Horses are well known for the strength and musculature of the hindquarters and so are cowgirls.

Thunderstorm in Ölüdeniz / Turkey

At my last visit to Godafoss, I shot one of my favorite Iceland images (flic.kr/p/2eAK2dL). So I was excited to visit this majestic waterfall again. Since our last visit some things had changed: they built a new parking site (probably a parking fee follows), new ways with benches and installed safety measures. It gets more and more touristic in Iceland, some say that with these many visitors the magic of Iceland vanishes - I agree partly for some main sites at the "rush hour", but there is still lots of things to discover.

My last photo I took from the shore of the river, but this time the path to the stairs was blocked by a chain. After checking the terrain, I decided to ignore this safety measure and continued my way down, where I took this image. After I went down, about 20 people followed my bad example ...
