On the return journey home from this past Saturday's trip to the Flint Hills of Kansas. I had no set route to get home. So I decided to follow county black top roads in a south by westerly direction. By going this unplanned route we ran into the small town of Woodbine, Kansas. There is a large abandoned brick school and a tank on static display. I have only been here one other time. And it was by accident as well. While walking around the school this image came into my view finder that you see here. To me it conveys the mood of a scene from a post apocalypse world. Image made with a full frame Pentax K 1 with a Pentax D FA 28-105mm F3.5-5.6 ED DC WR lens. With post processing in Silver Efex Pro2.

Or I think the title could be "when nature calls!" Yes, from the little things to the unusual, we eventually see them all! LOL This toilet is sitting on a rock wall, probably built in the pre-civil war era. If you look close you can see what appears to be the bottom of a tennis shoe. So, I guess this means the toilet is posted against users and don't even think about it or... what ? You get flushed? Mmmm

What an afternoon! We did a lovely circular drive around the Lake District, and luckily I chose to do it an anti-clockwise direction. Our last stop was Derwentwater (at Keswick) where there was a glorious low-hanging mist - had we gone there first, earlier in the day, we would've seen nothing, as the town had been covered in thick fog which only lifted as the sun began to set.

Looking to see what it is like at 0.95. Some post processing (obviously) but looking to see how out-of-focus highlights and sharpness are handled.
for the polytunnel
very handy!
a nice bit of progress!
no more dragging 60 metres of hose pipe to get water there anymore!
ODC = Post
Up the road a ways is this post...lol
A quick stop to post a photo for today's ODC, I'll be back tonight to catch up.
Getting missy up Friday VERY early, and making HEr report for maid service. Cleaning up extreme messes in the homes (and especially kitchens!) of two client houses after Thanksgiving day. I was so overly generous giving her Thursday off!!
They were so proud of themselves thinking they tricked me to lay down and have leaves thrown all over.....i'll let them win this time
With a Cosina Cosinon 55mm f1.4, wide open.
Not nearly as sharp wide open as the post I posted recently from a Schneider-Kreuznach Edixa-Xenar 50mm f2.8.
It may seem redundant to post a post, yet this post has personality!
This photo was taken by a Kowa/SIX medium format film camera and a Kowa 1:2.8/85mm lens with a Kowa L39•3C(UV) ø67 filter using CineStill 50D film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Glass tree sculpture. Jeannette Krohn.
artist's brief: Post-Tree Museum was both a testament to the original 'Big Scrub' forests of the Northern Rivers area of New South Wales, the white pastoralists who came after the timber getters and the change in understanding of the significance of rainforest today. Now 10 years later and the forests of the world are in a much. more precarious position. Therefore this is made of glass.

MOC: Post Office. A modern interpretation of the classic set 6689, "Post-Station".
Part of my "Updated Classics" series - an ever-growing number of sets I've re-interpreted in order to make them fit better with modern LEGO City vehicles and buildings.
I kept this one quite small, as I didn't feel it needed to grow so much to still be realistic, but I've added what I think of as an expansion to the original building, a post storage room. The colours are the same, there's a mailbox integrated in the facade, and the bicycle remains. The stickers are the same style as the originals, but these come from MiniStickers.nl - they're selling a nice sheet with various mail-related stickers.
The building style is reminiscent of the one I've used for other recent buildings of mine, but with the difference that this has a slanted roof, unlike the others that are flat. But that's because the original has a slanted roof.
The building also has attachment points placed according to the LEGO Modular building standard on the left side, which means it can be integrated in a modular layout.
