Running a user experience workshop for a client helps us understand the touch points that customers and staff experience. It's low tech - postitnotes, markers, sweets - and it's the conversation that counts
When you have to hide her Valentines day flowers and eat her chocolates you better leave a note. Happy Valentines Day!
One of those days with no opportunities to take photos. I actually have a daily phone reminder for my 365 project, but it's become so much part of my routine that so far have never forgotton to take a shot. As for inspiration and opportunities, I've been spoiled recently with all the good weather !

"From 1 October 2014, the paper tax disc will no longer need to be displayed on a vehicle. If you have a tax disc with any months left to run after this date, then it can be removed from the vehicle and destroyed."
Today is Pi Day. I was reading a bit about it here and was struck by the way Daniel Tammet sees his numbers. As someone who only sees them in color, I'm quite jealous that he's gone on beyond zebra and sees them as different shapes. Oh yeah, and that crazy memory of his is cool, too.

Moving offices for the second time this year. Thought I'd take this opportunity to say goodbye to the wall of "random things found in books." Hadn't been at that desk long enough for it to get very big.
A single mug yet it appears to have over lapping handles of two similar mugs. You might just be seeing double or at least I tried to draw it that way. I hope you like it.
I did some traveling over the Thanksgiving Holiday so I drew this on the Plane ride home. (11-29-2014) Then I colored it up today. (12-01-2014) I hope you like it.
The Sound Gallery in TC7 looks like it has just been left after a programme. The faders on the sound desk still have their handwritten post-it note labels. They haven’t started to rip out any of the equipment yet, but I’m sure it won’t be long. Ref: D952-17
Ripped from the headlines: Beliebers start Twitter hate campaign against English schoolgirl who criticised Justin Bieber
Post-it note, highlighter, pen, sharpie, kids these days
Horizontal and Vertical pin stripes in both Navy Blue and White across this open handled mug of coffee. I hope you like it.
Today saw me visiting the dentist after work. I started with a brush up from the hygienist and then a check up with the dentist.
When he starts drawing diagrams you know you're in trouble!
I've had a problem with recurring abscesses under my lower left seven - three in 18 months - and we talked about some treatment options. None of them are guaranteed and some peculiar features of the tooth make things a bit trickier.
We agreed to wait and see...
Now it will stay warm for you, all the way to work or school.

GDS hosted the first ever International Design in Government Conference to bring the community together in one place for two days full of talks, workshops, breakout sessions and a panel discussion.
I wasn't sure what to draw or what to call this one but I knew I hadn't drawn a mug in a while so this is what you get. I hope you like it.
Public art installation on a storefront window in Carroll Gardens. It’s a question every New Yorker wonders – how much is my neighbor paying for their apartment? "I’ve Lived" was an interactive installation that helped demystify the topic by inviting local residents and other passers-by to share information about their living situation. Inspired by Illegal Art's "To Do" installation, this participatory project covered a storefront window with Post-it notes stamped with specific fill-in-the-blank forms. Passers-by could fill in a note with their own apartment information and balk at the high and low numbers paid by others. By the end of the week, the window will transformed into a useful collection of personal notes created by and relevant to the community, while serving as a reflection of changing real estate values.
"I've Lived" was created by Candy Chang and was part of the Windows Brooklyn exhibit that paired artists with storefront windows in Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens June 14-22, 2008.
On Tuesday 12 September 2017 GDS hosted the second annual cross-government Blog Camp at the Bishopsgate Institute, London.
Sat there on a desk and thought they looked different. They have been purposefully enhanced. So something not the norm.
