On 26 September, the eight cross-government service design meet-up discussed ‘economics and social change’ – improving outcomes for users and making service provision more efficient for government at the same time. The event included presentations from HM Revenue & Customs, Essex County Council, and GDS’s economics team.
Praise the LARGE mug of coffee... for it has the POWER to warm you on these COLD winter days.
Hope you like it.

The first Women in Digital Government event brought together digital and technology teams across government to talk about common issues and collectively work on solutions.
As a project nears completion James gets to rip up more and more post-it notes.
He says it's to track progress, I think he's nesting.
I still want to laugh when I see this photo. My daughter was so mad she could have spit nails. She can't take pranks but she can sure dish them out. hahahahaha

My wife is the bomb, though I couldn't say that word out loud on my trans-continental flight. She packed me these Mutha Fuhkin' Snacks, which I did not grow sick and tired of.
...but it looks as if a Shark has taken a big bite out of the handle side of the mug. How are you going to hold onto it now? I hope you like it anyway.

Yesterday I ran the school's faculty meeting to talk about design thinking. I made these two sets of sketchnotes to talk about design thinking at our school, and to teach a Post-It Note exercise from dgray_xplane's book, GAMESTORMING. I'd say the day was very successful— in part because of the great visual aids. Style of note-taking owes a lot to Mike Rohde's book, Sketchnote Handbook.
It was poorly wrapped and of course you had to open it to enjoy your coffee this morning. It's not like you were going to wait until Christmas to drink this mug of coffee. I understand. I hope you liked it.
Merry Early Christmas!

I ran across a bunch of my old artwork from college and high school last night. I did a bunch of landscape abstract / minimalist painting back then. It inspired me to draw this mug today. I hope you like it.
No no no no no oh crap yes yes yes--I love the show.
I couldn't really think of much to do for my photo today so I ended up basically continuing the theme of discussion on the comments of yesterday's 7 Days shot!
"Gleeful" me. Bahaha.
Today was weird.
It was almost kind of... bad.
But the thing is that I'm finding myself feeling okay with it.
This shot took a bazillion tries. And I was toying with different ideas as to how to pull this concept off. I'm going to upload some "outtakes" as well.
I was playing with the multi-exposure function in my K20D and they came out funky. Great concept in my head, but I wish I could have executed my ideas in a better way... I went around looking for tall flat surfaces I could use as a makeshift tripod, since I have no clue where ours is... And they just weren't great pictures in the end.
I'm tired and hungry.
I get much too distracted by everything around me [yay for ADHD... nahhhht!] and I don't stop what I'm doing to do the things that are actually kind of important [i.e. eating dinner].
So I'mma go do that now.
PS: Sore throat is sore. D:<

Three months later, Scott (the author of these notes) and I were laid off to make room for a special robot that was built to do our jobs but faster and without wasting as many Post-It notes. For some reason, I cannot summon a sense of outrage about that.
