Townscape from half way up the mountainside where the village is located. Beautiful spot and area.

An old, Mexican tradition whereby figures are passed from house to house, representing the search by Mary and Joseph, with the baby Jesus, for lodgings. These three figures are angels. Somehow this tradition has been adopted in Tideswell, Derbyshire, England, with different figures spending a night at a time in different houses.

This covered walk is along the back side of the hotel and leads to the old Railway Station. The La Posada was one of the last of the old Harvey Hotels along the Santa Fe RR.

Jane Colter worked for the Fred Harvey Company from 1905 until her retirement in the 1950s. Although famous for her magnificent buildings at the Grand Canyon, she considered La Posada her masterpiece. Here she was able to design or select everything from the structures to the landscape, furniture, maids’ costumes, and dinner china. Many people consider this the most important and most beautiful building in the Southwest.

Around the grounds of La Posada Hotel in Winslow, Arizona, April 2017. Built in 1930, La Posada is one of the last of a series of hotel-depot complexes built across the Southwestern United States in a collaboration between Fred Harvey and the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. The hotel was closed in 1957, turned into offices, and later abandoned. Bought in 1997 to save it, it was substantially restored to reopen as a historic hotel and restaurant complex.

In der Mittagssonne macht die Altstadt von Posada einen sehr farbenfrohen Eindruck. Oben sieht man den Turm des Castello della Fava,

In the midday sun, the old town of Posada makes a very colorful impression. Above you can see the tower of Castello della Fava.

Posada (Nuoro) is a medieval coastal village on the Tyrrhenian coast of Sardinia.

The Posada's Castle, also called Castello della Fava, was built in the 12th century on a hill that overlooks the center of Posada, a few steps from the sea.
