Bud played in the garden and a bee or a wasp pricked his mouth.
his mouth and his body inflated very quickly.
he had much difficulty for breathing.
the veterinary surgeon made him a puncture in urgency.
he has meds during 3 days.
it was not a good day for my Bud, Today.
Now, he's better.

j'ai du l'emener chez le véto car il gonflait de partout
et il commencé à avoir du mal à respirer
Il a eu droit à une jolie piqûre
et des medicaments pour 3 jours
C'était pas son jour de chance
mais maintenant ça va mieux =)
(j'ai pris les photos apres la visite chez le véto
on peut encore voir la bouche gonflée
et les boursoufflures sur le corps
pourtant ça allait deja mieux à ce moment là)

San Jose, Chiapas, Mexico - I visited here in August 2002 with Witness for Peace. This small village was one of our stops. This is one of their roads. We were there to meet with the people who work the land, to hear their stories and struggles. The main purpose of the trip was to study the affects of globalization of the world economy on rural peoples and how it was affecting the migration of others to the US/Mexico border regions.
Getting decorated with Dora stickers is kind-of like a work-place hazard when you are the younger brother of a three year old girl.
Well, the vet had to amputate the end of Tex's tail! I accidently closed the door on it.... I can't say any more with out tearing up! He was tearing the bandage off his tail and had to wear the 'Elizabethan Collar"! Just makes me cry when I see it! Thank goodness that he is now fully recovered with a fuzzy shorter tail. Full of vinegar, as usual!!!!

Le cascate dell'Iguazú (Portoghese: Cataratas do Iguaçu, Spagnolo: Cataratas del Iguazú sono cascate generate dal fiume Iguazú situato sul confine tra lo stato brasiliano del Paraná e la provincia argentina di Misiones.
A decretare la supremazia (insieme alle imponenti Victoria's Falls in Africa) delle cascate di Iguazu' sono i numeri:
Il sistema consiste in 275 cascate, con altezze fino ad 80 metri, che si sviluppano lungo 2,7 chilometri del fiume Iguazú ( che successivamente si unisce al fiume Paranà ) inserite in una magnifica cornice di 200.000 ettari preservati di Parco Nazionale (che possiede oltre 450 esemplari di rettili,uccelli e farfalle, circa 2000 specie di piante ed almeno 80 specie di mammiferi diversi)
Il volume d'acqua che si sviluppa qui e' semplicemente da capogiri !
La natura non si e' certo risparmiata: 1500 metri cubi d' acqua al secondo ( essendo un metro cubo d' acqua equivalente a 1.000 litri cio' significa che la potenza "scaricata" dalle cascate di Iguazu' e' di circa 1 milione e mezzo di litri d' acqua al secondo, quindi 129 miliardi di litri d' acqua al giorno ...)
Di tutto il complesso delle cascate La Garganta del Diablo ("Gola del Diavolo") una gola a forma di U profonda 150 metri e lunga 700 metri, è la più imponente, e segna il confine tra Argentina e Brasile. La maggior parte delle cascate sono situate nel territorio argentino, ma dal lato brasiliano (600 metri) si ottiene una visione più panoramica della Garganta del Diablo.
Tanto è vero che si dice: «L'Argentina ha le cascate ed il Brasile ha il panorama»
Quando Eleanor Roosevelt, moglie del presidente degli Stati Uniti Franklin Delano Roosevelt, giunse dagli USA e vide tale meraviglia e potenza esclamo' : «Poor Niagara Falls!»

Le cascate sono condivise dal Parco nazionale dell'Iguazú (Argentina) e dal Parco nazionale dell'Iguaçu (Brasile). Questi parchi sono stati designati dall'UNESCO Patrimonio dell' Umanità nel 1984 e 1986 rispettivamente.
Il nome Iguazú viene dalle parole guaraní Y (acque) e GUASU (grandi). Una leggenda guaraní narra di un dio che pretendeva sposare una bellissima ragazza chiamata Naipú, che però scappò con il suo amante mortale Caroba in canoa. Arrabbiato, il dio modificò il fiume creando le cascate, nelle quali Naipù cadde trasformandosi in roccia, mentre Caroba si trasformò in albero. Si narra che da questa posizione i due amanti continuino ad osservarsi.
Vicino alla cascata, su ciascun lato, ci sono due importanti città: la brasiliana Foz do Iguaçu, situata nello stato brasiliano del Paraná, e Puerto Iguazú, situata nella provincia Argentina di Misiones. Altre importanti attrazioni turistiche vicino alle cascate sono la centrale idroelettrica di Itaipu, e la missioni gesuite guaraní in Paraguay, Argentina, e Brasile.

MR. BARBO
BORN APRIL 20, 1943
WE LOVED HIM AND HE REPAID THAT LOVE WITH AN ADORING DEVOTION THAT ONLY A DOG COULD GIVE.
SHOT AND KILLED BY A MALICIOUS HUNTER
NOVEMBER 1955
Mister Barbo, a mixture of Norwegian elkhound and Siberian husky, was shot and killed on November 24, 1955. His owner and the much of this mountain's owner, Joseph Davidson, offered rewards and pleaded publicly for information leading to apprehension of the person who killed his dog, but to no avail. To the dismay of the local populace, he immediately posted the mountain against hunters and hired sheriff's deputies to enforce the ban against trespassing. Mrs. Davidson, asked during the summer of 1990 to recall the incident, said that Mister Barbo always accompanied her husband on his regular rounds of mountain. Near the powerhouse, during deer-hunting season, the two probably encountered a hunter, and the dog, always extremely protective of the master, must have lunged for the hunter, who probably had no recourse—out of self-defense, Mrs. Davidson thought—but to fire his gun. Davidson, getting out of his car, heard the shot, found the dog dead, and became enraged. He had but a fleeting glance at the face of the hunter, who quickly disappeared into the woods. “I remember George saying, ‘I’ll kill you if I get to you,’” Mrs. Davidson quoted him.
As a child, Davidson never had a dog because his family favored cats, so Mister Barbo (the dog’s name when Davidson acquired him) was his first and only dog. “He bought the dog for me,” his wife remembered, “but it ended up being George's dog.” A further irony, she said, was that in despite Davidson’s intense attachment to Mister Barbo, she developed an allergy and could not live with the dog in the house.
Nonetheless, the legend of Mister Barbo remains strong: a granite monument inscribed to his memory is visited by thousands of tourist who travel each year to the summit. The mountain is still posted against hunting, not so much because of Dr. Davidson’s lasting rage but because the Carthusian Monks, who wear habits that are virtually the same color as deer, often take walks or work in the woods cutting and hauling firewood, and it would be dangerous to allow hunters armed with rifles anywhere near them.
