The Olympic Theater was built as a Sokol Slavsky Community Organization for the Czech population. Cicero had a growing Czech population and the Olympic had an auditorium, ballroom, gym, and pool. It was very popular for a long time and even into the mid 90's the Olympic would show movies and shows. It closed for a few years in the late 90's but opened again for concerts and plays. Sadly a small roof fire occurred in 2018 and it has not opened since. The fire damaged a restaurant, offices, a dental office and the Olympic Theater
The pool was built in the old original stable vault. Our room had a secret back exit door that led directly to the pool.

Day 84 of 365.
Today we had our fist real summer day outside. We had some friends over and we had a braai and the net was off the pool so the kids could swim.
We decided when we started looking for houses that if we get a house with a pool, so when we found the house we're living in and it had a pool net it was almost a sign.
It's a pain to get on and off, but compared with the safety of our kids, it's worth it.
