Great Gatsby -- am I never going to get the hang of this uploading thing? I simply refuse to let technology turn me into a shriveling mass of neurosis. Try and try again. The only way to get this down pat is to keep doing it. Fall off the bike - get back on...fall off, get back on.

Brand new for "Project a Month Challenge" -- February 2013. A new hand mirror finished just a day or so ago. My American Crewel needlework designs are always a fun project, but these mirrors are an excercise in faith.

I do the whole thing as one piece before it's cured and then the whole shootin' match goes into the oven all at once --- please don't break the mirror! There's no way to get it out or replace it if it breaks. The whole piece is ruined if that happens.

So far that's never happened.

This is actually solid polymer. I design the template and laminate three layers. It's about 10 inches long.

I used the colors from a vintage comic book as inspiration for this bangle, then added even more yellowing with a "barely-there" liquid polymer glaze. Sanding and polishing makes it shine.

This necklace and most of ,the items that I uploaded last month are made after I attended two workshops given by the most talented artist Jana Roberts benzon

New this week --- business card display/holders for your desk. The Crewel Muse is back to haunt me.

These are about 5" square, not counting the curl at the bottom, and are made using my own templates.

Still trying to get the hang of this whole digital picture taking thing....I'll get there....

Time to get back in gear!

Gads....it's been so long since I uploaded anything, I durn near forgot how! Took me 20 minutes to figure this all out again. I've been away for a few months trying to keep my nose to the grindstone and got lazy about uploading.

Anyway, every once in a while, I have to break away from my usual foo-froo flowery stuff and close my eyes and hope for the best.

Plain old caning here - still heavy into button production. Each one is about 4 inches wide, solid polymer. The barrette is the one without the holes...besides which, it's convex shaped.

I don't have any special programs - or "know how," for that matter - to alter and gussy up the photos, so this is straight off the chip.

Boy, this was a real project for me --- to get my head back into this uploading stuff. I hope I did it right. I'm so used to just hammering' away at the board and being in my own weird world! It's so fun to share.

Okay --- dissertation done. I gotta go take some pictures!

polymer clay leaves made using the Sutton Slice technique ( from Lisa Pavelka) done with two different skinner blends. I made the one on the right, the one of the left is from Julie Eakes -fellow guild member :o)

My old tutorial. Modern Flowers Sculpture or Chess Tulips.

Finally I made this photos look more or less decent.

I used flowers like these in my polymer clay sculpture work two years ago or something.

This is the necklace that appears in Helen Breil's new eBook tutorial for making her wonderful shapes. The eBook can be purchased at www.helenbreil.com

I'm just not sure I like this new Flickr layout....not crazy about the expanse of black background up there...

I thought I was going to make these my June Project, so I put them on my purple background.

I changed my mind.

Making buttons like crazy again. There are never enough.

The big one up there on the upper left is really BIG - about the size of an index card. Maybe it's not a button anymore. Maybe it's more like a plaque or something.

I have finally finished this doll! It was the most difficult one I have ever worked on. This is the Tree Dragon, a trade I have made with :iconemilisculpts: and therefore this is why it can look familiar for you! Here is the original design: emilysculpts.deviantart.com/art/Spring-Dragon-Details-193...

It was the first time the reference was a sculpture and not an illustration. It was very different! And hard to not make it look that similar that would lost my own style. As you can see, I have to make some modifications on design, as a doll needs to move and some changes were needed.

This is a handmade ball jointed doll, entirely made from scratch. I have used artificial plant as the leaves, so it won’t be fragile. Also it is the most detailed doll I have ever made. I am very proud of the result! It looked so realistic as a plant that at the moment we were taking pictures, one of the trees of his back (that are attached with magnets) were accidentally lost and we took a lot of time to find it in the middle of the plants…xD I will make a video for you to see it in action!

Well, that first upload went relatively smoothly --- let's try a couple more. This is a solid polymer table mirror using my cane-inlay-piecing technique.

New this week - These are just little pieces that will be framed. Each about 3" x 5"

Polymer clay jewellery - necklace.

If it's February, it must be bead time! Except for the occasional diversion, the months of February and March are almost exclusively for BEADS. Just trying out an idea here.

Also, I always need practice with, you know...the photographing and the uploading. Gotta get the hang of this or I'm gonna get left behind!
