To the richness of its wall paintings, is added the richness of the statuary. It consists of thirty-three polychrome wooden statues. In the seigniorial chapel: on the altar, a 16th century Virgin presenting her breast to the child Jesus, who refuses it.

At the right, in the choir, the beginning of a stone staircase which gave access to a bedroom, made available to passing pilgrims.

Historic polychrome decorative shingle pattern on a New England house features rows of attention-grabbing patterned shingles. Shingles on this old house have different shapes and colors. The term "imbrication" is used for a set of tiles or shingles that overlap like the scales of a fish.

Most of Denali National Park is closed to cars. If you want to travel into the park, you pay to ride a park bus along the one access road ... which I far prefer to the Yellowstone option of waiting in private car traffic jam. I wish they would do this in every national park.

The bus stopped at a rest area 40 miles in at Polychrome Pass. We left the bus here and spent a few hours in the backcountry, seeing some of the most beautiful mountains I've ever seen.
