Thanks for your visit.. Have a lovely week ahead..
A quick wander out with the macro lens during a brighter warmer hour. Quite a few bee's around and this one looked fully loaded with pollen. Probably my best bee in flight shot to date.
Another macro of the anthers from a Stargazer Lily.
I feel this is a better composition than my previous postings. If you view it large there is tremendous detail of the middle anther.
I'm not good with titles, but this composition reminded me of a firework explosion!
The lilies were a recent present from my son to my wife.
Yup, taken today, August 1, using a Nikon D7100, and an old technology Nikkor macro lens that hasn't been upgraded in a decade or so. Still work pretty well.

Originally taken in colour, I captured this pollen laden bee as it entered the bell on this white bluebell flower.
I was amazed at the pollen coverage the bees were getting from the dandelions in the yard. This bee shows that pretty well as it works this dandelion.
Taken 7 June 2023 near Wasilla, Alaska
We were at Mimmo, watching floating flower seeds, I was only able to capture one of those properly but luckily it was in the correct place at the time lol

The bees are out on the blooming flowers in my neighborhood of Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California. Taken with my iPhone 14 Pro Max set to Raw and Macro.
I love this photo of the beautiful sunflower, not only for the bloom, but also the bee on the flower head and the one ( out of focus, unfortunately) on approach, dropping bits of pollen as it flies. Zoom to see this more clearly. Certainly not a detail I saw as I snapped this pic......
