I wish you could tell how big this guy was in this photo. One of the frequent problems we encountered was trying to tell scale in the absence of any manmade things; we often wondered how big the land was that we were looking at. Massive Male Bear, sighted by our Friends who we were taking to Hebron, where they were camping and taking care of the Land and Mission. They remarked that they hoped this was the Last Bear they saw all summer.

She kept pacing. I knew I came at the right time to catch lunch by looking at her behavior.

This is a sleeping polar bear at the Oregon Zoo. He's cuddling with a plastic crate.

But my public want more!
