Rough Point is one of the Gilded Age mansions of Newport, Rhode Island, now open to the public as a museum. It is an English Manorial style home designed by architectural firm Peabody & Stearns for Frederick William Vanderbilt. Construction on the red sandstone and granite began in 1887 and was completed 1892.

Pigeon Point Lighthouse is on the California coast south of San Francisco. It is 115 feet tall and is one of the tallest lighthouses in America. It was built in 1872.
It is one of the most picturesque lighthouses on the Pacific coast. It stands on a rocky promontory and is a landmark for ships approaching San Francisco Bay from the south.
It is part of the California Pigeon Point Light Station State Historic Park.

Historic Point Atkinson Lighthouse in West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
In 1991 the Point Atkinson Lighthouse was designated as a Classified Federal Heritage Building by Parks Canada for the Government of Canada (FHBRO Building Report 90-67) and is listed on the Canadian Register of Historic Places. The lighthouse was designated as a National Historic Site of Canada in 1974.

Point Reyes, California Lighthouse. The fog cleared once I had climbed the 300+ steps back to the summit. It is hard to decern how very high the lighthouse is. Point Reyes extends 20 miles out. Point Reyes is where Sir Francis Drake visited the California coast.
