Point

The toy rabbit in the photo shows a lots of dots on its skin. It has two short ears on the top of her head like a small rabbit and two long arms like a monkey that are stayed on its right and left side. It also has two long legs like giraffe that are on its bottom of her body.

When I took this photo, I first imagine this toy rabbit looks like a leopard that is from America. I thought that is because usually the leopard has long legs that runs very fast like a train and small ears like a rabbit. It also has lots of black round dots on its skin. This photo makes me feel having lots of goosebumps.

This photo has uses lots of elements and principles of art. It used pattern, because there are many black round dots on its whole skin and it separates all its body. It also used contrast between the dots on its skin and the floor, because when i placed the toy rabbit the dots popped out of my eyes. It also used texture, because the floor has a rough texture. It also shows a rabbit shape.

Grey Point Fort (map reference J45698325) is a battery located at Helen's Bay on the south side of Belfast Lough. It was part of the defences of Belfast.

Construction of the battery began in 1904, with the guns mounted by 1907.[1] The construction of the battery and another battery on the opposite side of the Lough at Kilroot was noted by the Owen Report of 1905.[2]

The battery was armed with two 6-inch Mark VII Breech loading guns. During the First World War additional buildings were constructed to provide accommodation for men of Kitchener's Army. Following the war, the battery remained in use with two coastal defence search lights being installed in 1936.

Zabriskie Point is a part of Amargosa Range located in Death Valley National Park in the United States noted for its erosional landscape. It is composed of sediments from Furnace Creek Lake, which dried up 5 million years ago — long before Death Valley came into existence. The name Zabriskie comes from Christian Brevoort Zabriskie, who in the early 20th century was the vice-president and general manager of the Pacific Coast Borax Company, whose famous twenty mule teams were used to transport borax from the company's mining operations in Death Valley.

The historic Lake County Courthouse in Crown Point, Indiana.

"The Lake County Courthouse, affectionately referred to as the "Grand Old Lady," eloquently displays combined architectural styles: Romanesque and Georgian. Designed by J. C. Cochran of Chicago, Illinois, this ornate building has been a landmark in Lake County since its erection in 1878.

So many people who visit the historic structure are appreciative of such an attractive and impressive courthouse. The Lake County Courthouse continues to be the center or topic and of pride to those who view it.

Yet, surprisingly, this grand building was once threatened to be demolished in order to create a parking lot. Thankfully, the historical structure was saved from demolition by a group of dedicated citizens. Now placed on the National Register of Historic Places (since May 17, 1973), the Lake County Courthouse is meticulously maintained in order to welcome tourists, shoppers, and other appreciative visitors.

Retired as the house of county government, "The Grand Old Lady" now harbors a medley of unique shops, even a museum featuring Crown Point historical memorabilia.

The first permanent settlers in Lake County were Solon Robinson and Mariah Evans Robinson, who arrived in the Crown Point area in October of 1834. Crown Point, the county seat, was founded in 1834 and incorporated in 1868. Land was deeded for a courthouse and public square by Solon Robinson [a Connecticut native].

Actually, the very first courthouse for Lake County was a two-story log structure, funded by Solon Robinson at his own expense.

In 1878, a plan for a more imposing courthouse and public square came into fruition. Erection of the central portion of the courthouse, including the clock tower, began in 1878. Designer for the courthouse was J. C. Cochran of Chicago, Illinois. Construction materialized through Thomas and Hugh Colwell of Ottawa, Illinois. This original portion of the courthouse was dedicated in 1880 and reached a final cost $52,000.

Because of the expansion of county government, the celebrated courthouse was enlarged by adding a north and south tower. These two-story additions, begun in 1907 and dedicated in 1909, cost $160,000. Architects for the project were Beers and Beers of Chicago. Continued county growth required the addition of single story north and south wings in 1928 at a cost of $80,000.

The Courthouse depicts an age of advancement for Lake County, one of great economic expanse of the oil industry forged by John D. Rockefeller and the beginning of the steel mills by Judge Elbert Gary, making the Calumet Region one of the greatest industrial regions of the world.

The Lake County Courthouse is well-recognized as one of the finest architectural expressions in the state of Indiana. Standing as an impressive historical monument, it will surely continue to represent a steep sense of pride for Lake County and Crown Point, Indiana.

"Because Crown Point had no waiting period for marriage licenses, the city became a popular place to get married and became known as the "Marriage Mill". Many famous people came to Crown Point to be wed including Tom Mix, Rudolph Valentino, Cassius Clay, Jackson 5 patriarch Joseph Jackson." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_Point,_Indiana

The Point Arena Lighthouse stands tall and proud on the Northern California coast.

A lighthouse on Point Arena has served mariners since 1870.

This lighthouse entered service in 1908, replacing the original 1870 light which was damaged beyond repair in the Great Quake of 1906. While the 1906 quake is usually associated with San Francisco, the epicenter was very close to Point Arena, as the San Andreas Fault runs just east of the lighthouse.

This lighthouse was built of reinforced concrete by a company that specialized in the construction if smokestacks, which is why it looks like one.
