London Eye Capsule or Eye Pod (2011)

The Pod is a bean bag tripod. It's universal bolt screws into the bottom of the projector and props it at an angle. The cords also help to secure it.

This piece hangs on my bedroom wall to remind me of the sea. It is made using hand dyed Merino (using my all-in-one acid dyes), seed beads and embroidery.

Our tour guide told us that it is very rare to see migrant orcas. She was very excited.

The Copper-Roof Palace (Polish: pałac Pod Blachą) is an 18th-century palace in Warsaw, Poland. It takes its unusual name (which is less precisely phrased in the Polish original) from its copper roof — a rarity in the first half of the 18th century.

These pods have been falling for the last week or two. We had a particularly hot day yesterday, and it seems to have accelerated this process.

I wanted to capture the dainty, filament-like hairs upon which the small seeds of the milkweed plant ride the wind in the fall. Mission accomplished! My wife said the pod looks like an alien, and I can't disagree.
