This night photo is an HDR combining three long exposure photos (10s, 20s and 30s). It's interesting that this combination allows the visualization of details that couldn't be observed in a simple photo. Tools: tripod, software Photomatix Basic, software Gimp e its plugin ContrastFix.
Captured in: Smithtown, NY.
Hello again! It's great to finally be back after a bit of an extended holiday break. Hope everyone had a very Happy New Year, and a great start to 2019.
I decided to start back with this simple closeup of some wildflowers I came across at one of our local nature centers. Just trying to ease back in, and shake off a bit of rust following the break. ;)
Look forward to catching up w/ you all in the coming days!

EasterVisual and plugin demo by bennoeH.
This is a screenshot from an Easter visual,
specifically a Resolume Arena composition.
It features a 3D animated Easter egg in the foreground
and two ISF-based Arena plugins running in the
background.
The plugin on the rearmost/bottom layer is fully
visible but its brightness has been reduced.
The plugin above it, positioned between the egg
and the 100% background plugin, has been
processed with a luminance mask so that only
parts of it remain visible.
Each element has its own animation sequence.
A slight drop shadow effect was added to the 3D egg
to make it stand out more from the backgrounds,
and the color saturation of the middle layer was
increased, with the hue shifted slightly towards
red/yellow.
All layers function as independent loops, meaning
they are infinitely endles. Each layer has a different
total length, in the combination it's resulting in
continuously new compositions so that it givs no
absolute repetitions.

So busy. No time. Bleh. :P
I promise I'll have a better picture for next week though!
The pictures in comments are from Rhode Island this summer. We watched the America's Cup world series and I just edited the pictures from it, because… I found a free curves plugin for photoshop elements! And I'm OBSESSED. Curves is now my favorite thing ever.

Here is an image from around sunset on the night of the 4th. Taken from the Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco 40th floor deck. What an incredible evening it was, especially with this view.
This is a 32bit HDR using the Photomatix Plugin in Lightroom 5.Then brought into Nik Softwares Color Efex Pro 2.

70mm William Optics refractor and Canon 1100D wtih light pollution clip filter fitted. Mount was an EQ5 Pro on a permanent pier, tracking (not very well!) but no guiding.
ISO-1600 for 2 minutes for most of the image, 30 x 2 minutes stacked with Deep Sky Stacker (No darks because I screwed up when I shot them!)
ISO-1600 for 15 seconds for the core, 80 x 15 seconds stacked with 30 darks using Deep Sky Stacker. Both stacked images were processed in parallel, then blended using a layer mask in Photoshop.
Processed using Photoshop CS2 with the RC Astro Tools and Astroflat Pro plugins, followed by final tweaks in Lightroom and Fast Stone Image Viewer
I love the Orion Nebula which is the middle "star" of Orion's Sword, but I also really love the regions around M42, which are also filled with interesting nebulosity. It's nice imaging this region with a small refractor because you can easily fit the whole of Orion's Sword into the field of view.
I wanted to carry on imaging all night long but my back pain became too bad then I ended up having seizures until 4am. So I'm pleased with the result given the total exposure time.

A heady concoction to raise the spirits!
Yes, it's deliberately not symmetrical - since when was love straightforward?
Sometimes it can make one feel 'boxed in', too;-)

A re-edit of a photo that I took over 15 years ago with my Canon PowerShot S60 on the second trip I took it to Marthas Vineyard. The S60 launched me on a decade and a half career as a photographer, including many shots of my MV trips. Revisiting the image, I de-noised it using a Topaz plugin in Photoshop, made adjustments and applied a lookup table in Luminar 4.

I'm a huge fan of Topaz labs and their plugins. They just released a monster of a plugin. Topaz labs

How To Use VirtualPhotographer - I hope this will help anyone fairly new to photography and are wondering about how to post-process a photo to give a dramatic monochrome look using free software (apps). I took the original colour photo with my Panasonic Lumix LF1 compact camera back in April 2016, I’m using the original as example of what you can do with the free VirtualPhotographer plugin. I use this with IrfanView. I have detailed the steps I used to go from the “as taken” image to the above black & white image, you can download the how to do it in PDF here: app.box.com/s/ol8gpm1vz483t751n3qkse7x4502aewt
This is a modification I've done to the amazing Unique Grasses plugin by Tamu75. I love that plugin but I've always wanted a grass mod with better FPS, and as beautiful as Tamu's version of grass is, I felt it was lacking in just adding basic grasses to the mix, so I've incorporated unbelievable grass into this plugin, as well as some SFO plants, especially in the marsh region. I've also used the very simple GoS tweak of adding tons of grasses into the game: these pictures are shot with imingrasssize=60, and this isn't even all the grasses I've incorporated, since I realized I only had 8 textures when there are 15. More to come soon.
probando con el plugin de photosop Fractalius.

This software and these cool onOne tools are amazing and fun. I really dig them! I've been tinkering and experimenting for quite a while, and I finally decided to get my act together and write a full review.
People that joined the Facebook Fan Page got a sneak preview of this review, and now I can open it up to the rest of the world - I hope you enjoy it!
The onOne Plugin Review holds all the secrets and more inside. If you enjoy seeing what the latest technology can do to your photos, well, then, you'll love all unexpected surprises that will open themselves in your computer!

The grass mod is finally finished. Ideal setting is imingrasssize=70 for a sweet spot between density and performance, but go as low as 50 for better coverage or as high as 100 for more performance.
I'll add the link to the download shortly.
Look incredible viewed large on black.
This is my second Fractal Photograph. I really love the effects you get with the fractalius plug-in.
