Captured in: Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, ME.
Seen here is the view from Acadia's Thunder Hole at sunrise, as the sun's rays began to light the tops of this shoreline rock formation.
Thunder Hole is located on the southeast part of Mount Desert Island along the park's Loop Road. It is one of the most popular attractions at Acadia National Park.
The location features a natural rock inlet where Atlantic Ocean waves typically come ashore with a loud crash and are often accompanied by some high flying sea spray. The ocean was actually fairly quiet this particular morning, so it was a bit easier for the sun to steal the show.

The Fred Lawrence Whipple Observatory is operated by the Smithsonian in SE Arizona located near Amado on top of Mount Hopkins. You can see a car driving up to the observatory and just make out the observatory on Hopkins center left (the highest peak in the frame). For best wonderment results, please view large in the lightbox! ;-)))
Image Notes: This is a stacked star trails image. I used 81 26 second shots at 2500 ISO, F/2.8 at 16 mm taken with my Nikon D700 on my 11-16 Tokina. Three dark frames were taken and three separate shots were exposed to bring out the foreground via light-painting and longer exposure. A bit of diffraction/star burst was added to the N. Star/Polaris via Pro Digital's StarSpikes plugin.
... the last 'lockdown' image for this folder .. I hope I never have to add to it again ..
I hope this messing around has helped out folks dealing with the Doldrums we've been trapped in.

First post for 2010, I am trying to experiment on the effects of plugins for photographs. This is my way of saying Hi to all my Flickr friends.
Have a great day.

Sunrise in Moll del Petroli (Petrolium dock), Badalona.
Simple shot in Manual mode with 416 seconds (7 minutes) of exposition. This is my first shot taken and published with a filter. In fact, it was a double filter (Haida ND3.0 {100 steps} and Haida ND1.8 {6 steps}).
After, It was processed with Darktable creating the basic canvas for AdobeRGB with the Logarithmic option for Unbreak input profile. Then, additional plugins like Tone Curve, Highpass filters (only rocks), Local contrast (only rocks), Lowpass filters, Haze removal, some denoise plugins, and others were applied.
In this edition, the exposition was a little bit increased, colors were not modified but saturation and vividness were increased.
There is another version where the exposition was maintained a little bit low, colors were modified to be more neutral, and also violets where increased. You can see following this link:

This week's Flickr Macro Monday assignment had me going round and round -- specifically in circles. The group was tasked with photographing something that was circular, could be either single or multiple items, so long as it fit the circular theme.
There were many different directions to go with this one, but I finally "circled" back around to my original thought for the topic -- a painterly take on a small pocket watch.
HMM, and have a great week!

The dropbox plugin allows you to batch-upload files into your Omeka archive, and associate them with collections as well as tag them. It can also be used to associate files with pre-existing items.

The district of Wayanad has plenty of tea plantations. Every time we visit the place we end up drivng through the rolling hills packed with tea estates. The sparsely spaced Silver Oaks you see are essential for the plantation's survival. Tea is a rainfed crop. The Silver Oak does give the shade, but doesn't compete with the tea crop for soil moisture. Tea plants are bushy and pruned making the plucking easy.
Hello Everyone and a wonderful Saturday to you all. :) What a crazy week it has been, mostly at RL work doing things preparing for end of year. So I have been completely tied up and not in the fun way :P with work and baby sitting my sister's children in the evenings as she goes overboard on her to do lists. Though tiring I always find helping out is a joy to me, being needed by others and being able to be there for them, even if all one is doing is making homemade pizza and watching tv with your nieces and nephews for a few hours.
I realized it has been almost a week since I have uploaded a photo, I try to upload one every two or three days, but the holidays being what they always are time ran away from me, so I determined this morning to work on some older photos and to do a set of photos from various fans. :) One of which is a request of myself draped or laying across a car in an erotic pose, dressed in a sweater and leather skirt, sounded like a very simple photo so I went to one of my favorite photo places and took a few shots and doing a fairly quick edit, I used a photo plugin for the vignette in Lightroom and a few more tweaks and all done.
A big thank you for the fan request, I appreciate you taking the time to send one and I apologize for taking so long. :)
Have a wonderful Saturday everyone and go easy on the vodka and thank you all again for your lovely support and for allowing me to share my photos with you!
XOXO,
Hildda
