Let's have a colourful year.

Thanks to Michael

for the link.

This little Azalea blossom has been processed with a plugin from Redfield called Fractalius ONE!!! Happy Sliders Sunday, Everybody!!

Pictured here is a simple oil and water macro / abstract that employed a bit of color and light added from below.

"Oil and Water 2" is a non-HDR image that was processed using a combination of ACR, Photoshop, and Topaz Labs plugins (Adjust, Clean, Denoise, Glow, and Impression).

Heavy frost here recently. Another shot with off-camera flash. I like creating high contrast black and white shots of ferns as you concentrate on their shapes and textures. I process the raw file in DxO PhotoLab with my main concern to crush the blacks around the fern and remove any distracting elements then I use the FilmPack plugin, selecting a film look I think suits the image best and tweaking it from there.

The Fred Lawrence Whipple Observatory is operated by the Smithsonian in SE Arizona located near Amado on top of Mount Hopkins. You can see a car driving up to the observatory and just make out the observatory on Hopkins center left (the highest peak in the frame). For best wonderment results, please view large in the lightbox! ;-)))

Image Notes: This is a stacked star trails image. I used 81 26 second shots at 2500 ISO, F/2.8 at 16 mm taken with my Nikon D700 on my 11-16 Tokina. Three dark frames were taken and three separate shots were exposed to bring out the foreground via light-painting and longer exposure. A bit of diffraction/star burst was added to the N. Star/Polaris via Pro Digital's StarSpikes plugin.

First post for 2010, I am trying to experiment on the effects of plugins for photographs. This is my way of saying Hi to all my Flickr friends.

Have a great day.

I know this is yet another picture of M45, but it is one of my favourite objects and I just love imaging it.

I wanted to carry on imaging all night long but my back pain became too bad then I ended up having seizures until 4am. So I'm pleased with the result given the total exposure time.

UPDATE: Made it on to Explore #5 on 4th November 2012 - Thanks to all who viewed, commented and faved. It means a lot. :-)

This is the first monochrome upload from my recent trip to Skye. I have visited this location many times, but I got my timing slightly wrong on this occasion as I wanted a low tide for the images that I was after; but I just had to make do with the conditions I got. I have more uploads from this location that I plan to share over the coming weeks.

Please feel free to visit my website or my profile page for more details about my upcoming workshops or details about individual tuition. Why not subscribe to my newsletter which covers kit reviews, workshops as well as general commentary on all things photographic.

UPDATE: I still have a few places available on my B&W LE workshop in Swanage with Noel Clegg on Saturday 17th November. If anyone is interested please visit my Webpage for more details.

I have made this picture as an warning against Global Warming. There are no doubts, now, that it is a fact, and we will have to act with great deliberation to try to control it. If we do not achieve it, we will have to learn to live in a completly different World ... Things are starting to change and we are not yet recognizing the as dramatic, but soon they may come completly our of control

I have produced this picture as part of the work I am doing in order to achieve the Escher and Droste effect. This effect has often the ability to play with our minds making impossible Worlds look real, as our mind has often difficulty in pinpointing the incoherences in the pictures we are observing.

** I have used Gimp and its plugin mathmap to produce this effect. There is a thriving group on Esher and Droste effect on Flickr.

EasterVisual and plugin demo by bennoeH.

This is a screenshot from an Easter visual,

specifically a Resolume Arena composition.

It features a 3D animated Easter egg in the foreground

and two ISF-based Arena plugins running in the

background.

The plugin on the rearmost/bottom layer is fully

visible but its brightness has been reduced.

The plugin above it, positioned between the egg

and the 100% background plugin, has been

processed with a luminance mask so that only

parts of it remain visible.

Each element has its own animation sequence.

A slight drop shadow effect was added to the 3D egg

to make it stand out more from the backgrounds,

and the color saturation of the middle layer was

increased, with the hue shifted slightly towards

red/yellow.

All layers function as independent loops, meaning

they are infinitely endles. Each layer has a different

total length, in the combination it's resulting in

continuously new compositions so that it givs no

absolute repetitions.
