Thrive Clermont's Teen Volunteer PlugIns is a year-long program that aims to connect teens to their community, and increase feelings of self esteem and self worth through volunteerism. The program begins with a half-day volunteer training program (offered quarterly), which will help teens discover what it means to be a volunteer, uncover their natural skills and abilities, and gives them the chance to meet with local organizations that share their beliefs and goals. Once teens have been trained and matched with an organization, they will then be able to volunteer at regular intervals, developing essential job skills and making lasting connections along the way.

It was interesting when Eleanor handed me the microphone and I had to blab for a while and kill time while folks sorted out some technical problems with the assortment of laptops that people brought.

I didn't like the weird combination of the dark green and how it looked with the standard alternating grey and white background, and how it was so hard to read. This page also highlights the admin drop down menu plug-in which looks snappier in firefox but not too shabby in Safari.
