The Blue Mosque is one of the most prominent landmarks of Istanbul, Turkey. It was built between 1609 and 1616, during the rule of Sultan Ahmet I.

I just managed a quick snap of this much faded and battered butterfly at swettenham arboretum Cheshire today before it flew away

it is so woebegone that I am finding positive identification difficult

Salmon River Lighthouse is a standard tapered square style light erected in 1924 on the end of the breakwater at Salmon River, north of Yarmouth near Cape St. Mary's. The light ceased operation in the 1980s and was purchased by a businessman and moved about 60 kilometers (37mi) to West Pubnico. It was an Arcadian craft shop, but closed and is now owned by Vernon d’Eon Fishing Suppies Ltd.

This attractive lighthouse, which originally was built on a pier, now sits on a crib at the east side of the entrance to Shelburne Harbour. At low tide the tapered wooden tower is accessible across a sand bar. There is a sandy beach, swimming, birding, and a community hall where snacks may be available. Many festivals and activities take place here in summer, especially lobster dinners.
