Urania Sternwarte is a public observatory. On June 15, 1907, the observatory was put into operational use. Its approximately 51 meter (167 ft) high tower, dominates the western end of Zurich's historical Altstadt.

Its optical telescope measures twelve tons and was designed by Carl Zeiss AG in Jena, Germany, considered as a technical masterpiece.

Playing around with new people all day makes you sleepy. Then is it nice to just lie down on a soft and familiar place and have someone to rub your belly. Cats probably agree with me on this.

As I often get questions on this setup: The kitchen table is just medium-brown faux-wood plastic laminate.

The dark appearance is a combination of the low camera POV - it's on a tripod off table with the lens just above table height - and the black backdrop raised high enough to fill the reflection.

The main flash on tripod behind umbrella is to the right and my new flash at -1EV, with soft box, is sitting on the table on the left.

The bag was empty, the boys having Hoovered up the contents before I began setting everything up.

Henry has his front paws on a small step-stool so you can see him.

This is a trick he does easily and well.

I should explain that I go with tour groups but I never stay with them for very long as getting pictures is the important thing to me. I left them and had to look into the right and left entrance ways, tomorrow you will see what I saw.

I would like to think I'm a half full kinda of guy, but latelly I am starting to have my doubts...

Commissioned by the Shediac Rotary Club, the World's Largest Lobster was created and constructed by the late Winston Bronnum (notable animal sculptor) of Penobsquis, New Brunswick. The sculpture, which is made of reinforced concrete and steel, measures 10.7 meters (35 feet) in length and 5 meters (16.4 feet) in height and took 3 years to complete. This masterpiece weights 50 metric tons (110,231.13 pounds) and rests on a 32 metric ton (70,547.924 pounds) perestal.

There are 64 stairs that lead into this great cistern, whose walls were coated with many layers of plaster.
