Please consider voting for my image in Canon and Ron Howard's Project Imaginat10n here: www.longliveimagination.com/gallery/photo/880

I have some really exciting news. One of my photos has been selected as a finalist in "Canon's Project Imaginat10n" that is being produced by Ron Howard. There are 10 categories representing 10 tenets of story telling. My photo, "The Fiery Clean Up", is 1 of 30 finalists in the "Backstory" category. There is a public vote to narrow the 30 images down to 10. The top 7 voted images along with 3 more chosen by Ron Howard will make it to the grand finals.

So I humbly ask for your vote to help me get a chance to hopefully make it to the grand finals. Voting started today and will run until September 24th.

My image is was taken at the Acushnet, MA at the Department of Public Works and was taken just over a year ago during Acushnet's clean up after hurricane Irene. I snapped a quick shot as I was there dropping off our recyclables.

Unfortunately, I believe that you may have to register to vote and I would so appreciate if you find the image worthy for a vote to do so. It would mean the world to me. You can vote every day so I will be dropping daily reminders until the voting has ended.

Please let me know if there are any problems with voting. It is supposed to be live already but I have already registered. THANKS!

Tourny Fountain was presented to the City of Québec by La Maison Simons as a gift for the city's 400th anniversary. The fountain is across from Québec's Parliament. It has 43 jets and beautiful nighttime lighting and is one of the city's must-see attractions.

Assemblage I did last autumn. It kind of fits with some of the embroidery I'm doing at the moment.

Nelumbo nucifera is known by a number of common names, including blue lotus, Indian lotus, sacred lotus, bean of India, and sacred water-lily. Botanically, Nelumbo nucifera (Gaertn.) may also be referred to by its former names, Nelumbium speciosum (Wild.) or Nymphaea nelumbo. This plant is an aquatic perennial, but if its seeds are preserved under favorable circumstances, they may remain viable for many years.

In Ancient Egypt, Nelumbo nucifera was unknown, being introduced only at the time of the Persian invasions, late in ancient Egyptian history. The ancient Egyptians venerated the blue water-lily, Nymphaea caerulea, which was sometimes known as the "blue lotus" or "sacred lotus".

Lady was reading a book in Crysler Hall.

The Doric columns of this imposing structure, each made from one great pine tree, were moved from the original site when Crysler Hall was taken down and reconstructed in Upper Canada Village. It was originally built by John Pliny Crysler, a timber merchant. He was the son of the John Crysler upon whose farm the Battle of Crysler's Farm, had been fought (part of the War of 1812).

Crysler Hall was built as a residence. The sweeping circular drive, cast iron fence and formal gardens all add to the dignity of this fine example of Greek revival architecture. It is not typical of most houses of the period, and would have been considered pompous by most residents. The gardens all emphasize the Victorian interest in flower gardens as part of the landscape, and complement the architecture of Crysler Hall.

The interior of Crysler Hall is modern, and contains exhibits related to Upper Canada Village and the history of the area.
