The Vaillancourt Fountain, sometimes called Quebec libre!, is a large fountain located in Justin Herman Plaza in San Francisco, designed by the Québécois artist Armand Vaillancourt in 1971. It is about 12 m (40 ft) high and is constructed out of precast concrete square tubes. Pumps out about 30,000 gallons of water per minutes.

It was drained for repairs June 14, 2023, it had various electrical problems that had to be repaired.

The church of St Pancras probably dates from the eleventh century but has been enlarged and rebuilt several times.
The present steeple dates from 1854 and follows in the tradition of onion-shaped domes which are characteristic of Savoyard and Piemontese religious architecture of the late 9th century.
The original covering of tin plate had rusted badly and was replaced in 1989 by stainless steel and gold leaf.

The tower is 8.2 m (27 ft) tall and was built in 1880.
The tower is a museum displaying historical pictures. Next to the tower is a monument dedicated to area fisherman who died at sea.

"From couch potato to marathon runner in four months", so says Steve Dubois who's decided to run the 26-mile London Marathon on April 17 to raise money for the Charlie and Kathleen Dunnery Children’s Fund. The charity is based in a little town called Egremont, which is where I lived for a few of my pre-school years, and you can read about them at www.ckdcf.org/home.html.
Steve asked three of us to curate exhibitions of photographs for sale through RedBubble. In addition to the one I've pulled together on Abstracts, Jason Theaker did Landscapes and Bob Davis The Fens. Please, please do spend a moment to look at the pictures and, even better, please buy something. Steve is going to raise £6,000 and I would like the photography exhibitions to contribute as much as possible to that total. So please help!
Twenty five people have been absolutely superb in joining with me and donating an image for the Abstract exhibition. (Each photographer retains the rights to their image but has granted Steve a non exclusive right to sell the shots for his fund-raising campaign). There will also be a Blurb book very soon but for now heartfelt thanks from Steve and me to the 25 Abstractionists!

The Stage Coach Road parallels Highway 101 and San Luis Obispo Creek through the shade of Cuesta Canyon while heading up to the Cuesta Grade summit. This historic road was formerly the Old Padre Trail, dating back to the 1700s. The Old Padre Trail was a primary route connecting San Luis Obispo with the northern inland valleys. Although the Stagecoach Road may be used by motor vehicles, it is primarily used for hiking and biking.

On this day, I had been longing to check out Old Stage Coach Road. It had been a long time since I had been there. I had some business to do on this morning, so I decided to take a look afterwards. It is only a short drive. Although it was a bright midday, I was very happy to get in a few good captures. I loved how this tree leaves were brightly lit at the top and in shadow down below.

The building on the left was the SS Hospital. In the background is the chimney of the crematorium.
Hospital with surgical unit, obstetrical/gynecological block for inmates, quarantine areas for newly arriving prisoners.

Reflections of commuters (see more in the series below) in a rain puddle. Flipping the images, in my opinion, add greater interest and drama to the composition.

The first thing we did in the morning was to take a walk along the beach across the road. We passed under the long wooden trestle that appeared to be for walking and bicycles. It was a beautiful beach that went for miles.
