One of my attempts at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Egg".
Shot with a Taisei Kogaku "Micro Tamron 70 mm F 5.6" lens on a Canon EOS R5.
Hand painted - by me, copying a genuine hand-painted Limoges original antique plate. I started with a plain green digital canvass, inscribed a circle, and used Paint to paint the copied design. I can tell you, the original was a beauty! But not affordable. So I'm painting my own,
I don't remember exactly...but this trio must have sounded great crossing Hohman Avenue in Hammond, Indiana.
This was scanned from a Kodacolor 35mm negative I dug up recently. Shot in the mid-seventies. I wish I would have been shooting Kodachrome ll on this day!
Orange is my least favorite color. Its the topic for Our Daily Challenge today. I told myself that I would go into the thrift store and come out with something orange I was happy aboutl Surely a contrast to all my turquoise dishes - I do actually like the 2 dinner plates and 4 sandwich plated I got for $2.00
An SD60M and a Dash 9 hustle hot roadrailer train 262 east across the CSX diamonds in Fostoria, OH. Today the SD60Ms are no more, and the only remaining roadrailer trains on NS run on the Wabash, not the NKP.

These plates of ice are frozen in place under the surface. The ice shifts and breaks daily then refreezes. Best viewed large.
I found this trying to overcome my quarter plate issue with the 9x9 Go board. The slight bowing you see is nonexistent with ample side support (1x2, 2x2 bricks, etc). I am not sure the hinge tops are quite quarter plates, but I am sure the raised lettering on these parts isn't helping.
I tried using some plates, tiles, and flags to determine the actual fraction of a plate, but when I broke out the calipers I found that the plates, tiles, and flags I was using were not quite the dimensions I expected, so I just took a sample of 32 hinge tops and with statistics concluded the actual fraction is about 5/16 of a plate.
Location: Prague
Certainly my domestic highlight of my Prague trip in 2018 was this amazing SLR McLaren.
The SLR is one of my favorite cars of all times and if I were to win the lottery, I would definitely get one becaus it's a great asset, too.
Nothing will ever be made like this by Mercedes, I guess.
This is also my first coupe in black. It looks just stunning.
