The surviving detail in the plaster work in the Forum Baths is quite remarkable. The alcoves are for storing clothes and belongings.
Since my power-plus was broken I replaced it with new (professional) equipment. This thing is a lot smaller and lighter but more than twice as powerful. It looks like Katia liked it because she almost immediately took over and removed almost all plaster in 2 hours.

OK now it's just a waiting game now... this is the last layer of plaster or this mold. I would of like to put one more layer of plaster bandage and plaster, but this will have to do.
As u can imagine I'm feeling nervous... It's like opening a kinder egg you just dont know what your going to get.

This was a 6th grade students work. First, they created a wire armature. Next they wrapped it in aluminum foil to give it form. We talked about how to make it look muscular and proportional. Next they wrapped it in wet plaster gauze strips. Last step was to add gold paint and hot glue to the wood base. They loved it!
