Had to include this photo as it's the only dinosaur which I gained from lost & found when working at the Museum - sadly we no longer have him.

I am out west on Marlatt Trails (the Marlatt family had a farm down the road) and rounded Poplar Pond (gravel pit) and found a ditch that runs from the Denio Taylor Ditch. The Denio Taylor Ditch eventually wandered east, downhill from Longmont's Third Avenue toward the old Denio Mill on Pratt Street. It now disapperars before arrival. The flour mill, currently Old Mill Park was operated by J.W. Denio and others. The old mill was actually serviced by one of the early railroads that actually extended another block west paralleling the feed water ditch.
The near hail already dampened my clothes and the breeze was keeping me in a state of delightful cool that I missed for some time. Needless to say, this river bottom, gravel pit area is quite heavily wooded as was the original area out west to Crane Hollow.
Boulder County eventually reopened Pella Crossing Park at Hygiene after the flood a decade ago. Who thought that a flood plain with multiple gravel pits, a river bottom and a Mill and other ditches would ever flood in the age of global orangeman warming... We have met the enemy and he is a bold faced liar. Let's hope that the "bigger the lie" no longer holds sway as it did 70 decades ago in Austria and Germany. Apparently there are several prairie castle owners who prefer this flood plain. This all started when I delivered a couple of the tomato plants to Ronnie in Hygiene. He related that the park, on the other side of the railroad tracks, had reopened. It's been some time since I wandered the area.
Now Pella was an original St. Vrain river ford settlement but unlike Longmont, Pella has long disappeared. Almost all the water in St. Vrain River has similarly disappeared into lawns and gravel pits. At least the ground and ditch water is watering some habitat. Hygiene eventually sprung up north of old Pella. I visited the park east of North 75th Street south of Hygiene earlier. Some clouding finally showed up so I parked at Ronnie's which is closer to the west side Marlatt Trails and headed out on my trek under threatening skies. After a couple of treks in hundred degree heat, a sprinkle is enormously welcome. A sprinkle here is a state of mind. Off and around the railroad tracks to head west along Dragonfly Pond.
The weather kicked in before I got far and stated blowing this scene and trekkers around. It kicked into near hail and I should have grabbed a plasic bag at Ronnie's. I wrpped my shirt tail around the camera and turned away from the blow. Others scattered back to the parking and left me alone in the near hail. I got wet and boy, that felt great in the breeze. The trails were all my own then. El grande! The blow is on its way through this scene of the warning sign. I expect pond algae is wildlife too, pretty tame though! This spot looks less than wild to me. Any wildlife will be lucky going forward in the age of orangeman dictators. Do I spy some ducks? I can see geese at Golden Ponds at any time\, but ducks? They are often there too. The sign held its ground. I headed out in the long awaited cool.

Thought I would share this mosaic to demonstrate the creative process... it's not technically an 'outtake' but I thought it was a good idea 💡
This is a little piece of table decoration. Over the years it got some little cracks on the surface.

HMM!
The shape of this plastic vase attributed to Sotades shows a crocodile that has grabbed an African boy. On neck, painted in red-figured technique, there are a huntress in Thracian costume with spears, and a second woman handing an alabastron (anointing oil vessel).

This one, again inspired by an Photo of Summer Kellogg - Was flickring through the stream, while seaching for the Original to my last drawing und, realy enjoed seeing Photos, I put on my faves list 2 or 3 years ago, and how the children have grown since then ...
Taking the motive out of the original context, making it an kind of waiting area with nailed to the wall lines of plasic seats.
But I think it works that way. The tired, exhausted, sad girl, hiding behind her suffed animals.
