A tow boat pulls out a barge after a gantry crane picked up a 1.3 million pound concrete shell Aug. 3, 2018 downstream of Kentucky Lock in Grand Rivers, Ky. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District and contractor, Johnson Brothers, were preparing to place it on the riverbed where it will be part of a coffer dam and eventually a permanent part of the new lock wall for the Kentucky Lock Addition Project. An issue with the strand jack delayed the placement of the concrete shell until Aug. 6. It is the first of 10 shells being placed over the next year. I found these turkeys at a display in the checkout lane a craft store (A.C. Moore). There were also Halloween-themed flocked figures (ghosts and pumpkins), but I thought birds were more relevant to Flock. I'll have to check with Flock's marketing crew to see if this is in fact a product placement. (I'm kidding; one definition of "flocking" means "to texture or pattern with pulverized wool or felt.")

Joints were done with 45 degree cuts so the nuts are welded slightly towards centre, hoping it hides them a bit and doesn't require drilling into the weld.
