We drove 3 oldtimer Landrovers from Belgium into the Catalan Pyrenees and back. Off-road, off-grid and with a minimal ecological footprint. Nobody would find traces of us sleeping next to a ravine or in a forest.

With just over one year passed since the re–launch of the Diocesan Readers’ course in the Diocese of Down and Dromore, there are now 24 people from 21 different parishes half–way through their studies and about to undertake practical preaching placements. Now, with interviews completed for the next cohort of Readers, another 13 people have been just accepted onto the course. This means that the diocese is on track to more than double its number of Diocesan Readers within two years from 34 to 71. It also means that 30 parishes in the diocese will have Readers commissioned into them as well as a role from time to time throughout the wider diocese to assist parishes in vacancies and sickness cover.

Part of the reason for the sharp growth in applications has come through a renewed publicity and information approach to this ministry as part of the dioceses ‘Life Changing Ministry’ project. This has also involved meeting with all the Diocesan Readers and trainees twice a year for worship and fellowship together. Speaking about these new developments the Warden of Readers, the Revd Willie Nixon, commented: ‘The role of a Reader is becoming increasingly important in supporting the ministry of a parish, particularly through preaching and leading services. We hope that these new Readers will become a great asset to their churches in this role but also, for some, in a wider ministry in supporting other churches throughout the diocese. Please pray for them as they seek to complete their training over the months ahead.’

I do quite like these posters, but I'm not sure this site really suits it. (Check the notes and previous photo in case it's not clear.)

All the energy seems to have been expended on the outside with the inside relatively austere. The four dolerite columns have intricate carving most of them destroyed.

About the temple

Surprisingly, the temple does not have a 1000 images of Rama - nobody seems to have bothered to count. The beautiful temple, based on the axial alignment and the location, points to the pivotal role it played during its time.

Wrapped around the outside wall, are three lines clockwise panels depicting 108 scenes from Valmiki's Ramayana. The story goes that the kings would make three parikrama's of the temple every morning. The panels simulated them reading the epic every day. Was this the first Ramayana comic?

The panels are arranged such that the corners and doorways have important episodes, a clue into how the designers thought of visual placements.

Placing two traps side by side, one inch apart, can increase your catch, especially in mass trapping situations. If a mouse is running along the wall and attempts to jump over one trap, it might land on the second.

Wendy and I did a walk thru on the guest domes electrical situation.

This structure will be off-grid like everything else on our property.

We needed to decide on where to put our light switches, fixtures and

outlets. Code says 18" off the floor for outlets and 48" for switches

so that is where they will go. The electrical inspector also asked

that we do not weld any of the equipment. We will be bolting

everything together.

The current state of Holter technology uses smaller recorders (size, 70×95×20 mm; weight, ≈190 g) with flashcard technology to record and store data from 2 to 3 ECG leads attached to the patient's chest and collected continuously over 24 to 48 hours.
