The Brussels Stock Exchange (BSE) (French: Bourse de Bruxelles, Dutch: Beurs van Brussel) was founded in Brussels, Belgium by Napoleonic decree in 1801. On September 22, 2000, the BSE merged with Paris Bourse, Lisbon Stock Exchange and the stock exchanges of Amsterdam, to form Euronext N.V., the first pan-European exchange for equities and derivatives, with common trading and clearing of all products, and was renamed Euronext Brussels. The most well known index on the Brussels Stock Exchange is the BEL20.

"Place de la Bourse is part of the Port of the Moon, Bordeaux, which has been listed by UNESCO as World Heritage since 2007. The royal square is a fine example of the outstanding urban ensemble that was built in the 18th century, during the reign of King Louis XV. The spectacular setting of Place de la Bourse on the edge of the Garonne River shows a monumental succession of identical buildings that form a continuous and balanced building curtain".

when i first got into photography i used to love to take panoramas - that is really wide images which are composed of multiple pictures stitched together. however it's been over 3 years since i last added one to the site. it's not that i no longer like them, but i don't think they really work well on screen. if you want to see the picture as a whole then you have to significantly reduce the height, and that means lots of details get lost. these days i tend to favour turning panoramas into little planets. i've created a brand new planet on an almost annual basis from 2011, (nearly) 2012, 2013 and now this french addition. i realise that this doesn't really solve the issue of losing the details, well i guess it just distorts all the details, but at least they fit nicely on a screen... if you have a big screen.

here's the pre-graded/post-distorted original

Though best known as an ancient wine region, Bordeaux France is also a highly-livable city full of splendid 18th century architecture. Here, the trade centre, Place de la Bourse reflects in a splendid reflecting pool between the building and the Gironde river, which bisects the city.

At 130 meter long X 42 meter wide, this set of granite slabs forms the largest reflecting pool in the world. The pond's water cycles from almost dry (looking like a huge slate), then it produces plumes of mist that turn the quay in a fairyland, finally the fog yields to crystal clear water that perfectly reflects "Place de la Bourse", as seen here. The Place de la Bourse is the centuries-old heart of old Bordeaux, with grand buildings linking the riverside with the old city.

The riverside square was renovated in the 18th century by architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel, with the majestic old stock exchange and the Hotel des Fermes flanking the open space around the 1864 Fontaine des Trois-Graces.

In more recent years, the square has seen the city's modern tram network run through its heart, while the Miroir d'Eau, a spectacular flat water feature which intermittently reflects the city and sprays mist in which children of all ages play in, is a popular new attraction busy throughout the day.

In Bordeaux downtown there's a square - place de la bourse - where children usually have fun on the fountain, called "miroir d'eau" - the "water mirror". Stay five minutes and you'll see a real show. People any age gets in. Children, toddler, adults, and by the way, if you're lucky, it may happen you'll see some nice girl modeling.

Jahrhundert.

Three lads who were wandering past as I was taking pictures of the Place de la Bourse and wanted theirs taken. The one in the middle is called Jeremy Djerrou and hopefully he has received this picture.
