I have no idea what these pixies would be for. Perhaps to hang on the wall with matches or toothpicks in them? Who knows. They come from Japan, and where purchased off ebay about 10 years ago. I don't know about you, but I sure wouldnt want to meet this pack in a dark alley.. lol

Pixie was created from the Marx Johnny West Pancho pony. Deb turned her head, added haired mane and tail and painted her to a lovely light grey mare.

These are my collection of Imps or Pixies. I have bought a nice vintage display cabinet that is arriving in a few days so I thought this would be a good time to photograph my collection. I also have a collection of vintage figural fish salt n pepper shakers in the back (I have about 100 sets of these).
I have been cataloging all of the different types of Imps and have found that there are about 800 different ones! I have about 300 or so.
I am looking for the others so if you by chance have one that you don't see in the photos or think I might be interested in please let me know! I would love to see it!
I am composing a collector's book showcasing this specific style of Imp and hope to be finished with it later this year. It's a lot of work! Thanks for checking out my collection!

Here are the rest of my pixie towels that we use all the time. Don't look too close as you will see all of the stains from various clean-ups. These would never have come out of my grandmas kitchen drawer looking like this. All would have been starched and ironed!
Pixie worked with year 2 to paint these beautiful laser cut sea creature shapes which now adorn their playground pagoda.
These colorful lichens are Red Fruited Pixie Cups (Cladonia pleurota), found at Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area, Orange County, NC. Based on online herbaria records, this species is rare in the Piedmont with most NC records being from higher elevations in the mountains. Piedmont records include collections from unusual habitats such as granitic flatrocks and from a rare Piedmont bog community. These were growing on a cooler north-facing slope under Mountain Laurel. Although the red of the apothecia may appear to be oversaturated, they really are very intensely scarlet. DOF was achieved by focus stacking 8-9 images.
Since this may be a vulnerable disjunct population, I've only marked a generic location for the Natural Area on the map.

This is the mummified remains of a long dead pixie. It was discovered in a small cave outside of Portsmouth, England in 1874. It was mounted in this mason jar in the 50's to preserve it.
(Please Note: The back story is for fun. This is in fact a piece of gaff art that I spent a lot of time on. The jar is in fact a vintage jar from the 50's.)

Teriyaki chicken over rice & lentils, kim chi and stir fried veggies and tofu.
The stir fried veggies had a little sauce on it so pixies are handy for keeping the sauce contained.
I've had an aversion to chicken for many years so I never cooked/prepared (maybe once or twice a year). But I'm slowly becoming OK with it. As long as I get organic free-range chicken, the horrific chicken coop conditions don't gross me out as much.
