For the Toy Sunday Group. Theme - Expecting.
The toy room is all aflutter this morning with anticipation! Since my Domos discovered my secret stash of pixie dust (and I often read to them from their favorite children's book, Peter Pan), they are EXPECTING that each and every one of them will be taking off flying in a matter of minutes. As if my house wasn't chaotic enough.....this is the last thing I need....toys floating around.....finding new ways to get into trouble. ;-)
At Silver Bella, I had the opportunity to take a class with: Kim Kwan. This class was called: The Faerie Shrine Class!
Each student brought a cigar box to class and was given an amazing kit from Kim.
In return we turned our cigar boxes into magical and enchanting works of art. I finished only half the inside of my shrine in class, I finally finished it today.
Here is the cover of my box/shrine, which I have called: Pixies in Wonderland. I painted my cover with cotton candy pink and off creme brulee color acrylic paints, followed by a antique silver glitter border and chip borad letter.
Inside my box/shrine, I turned an image from Kim's kit into a 3-d paper piece, with layers of crepe paper, tinsel, wings, a berry wand and piano paper crown which was sprinkled in light glitter or shall I say Pixie Dust and gorgeous rhinestones from Liz Albrecht, who is just wonderful too.
I further enhanced with a german tinsel glass bird, antique silver colored leaves and berries, vintage piano paper, trim and more!
visit my blog for imore details and instructions on distressing crepe paper!
Whimsical and enchanting 22" antique copper pendant charm necklace with a toggle clasp closure.
Do you like fairies, pixie dust, and purple? Who doesn't? This delightful statement piece is sure to be a hit with a gorgeous warm antique copper floral detailed half moon, the most perfectly detailed fairy, and a sprinkle of purple and lilac magic hanging from a lovely antique brass chain! Hanging from the moon with a delightful purple glass bead dangle, this fairy is just waiting to sprinkle some purple pixie dust♥
The half moon measures approximately 2" (52mm)long including the loop x 5/8" (15mm) wide at it's widest point. The fairy is just shy of an inch (24mm) long x 5/8" (17mm) wide at the widest point (her wings). The bead drop dangle is about 5/8" (17mm) and dangles just under the fairy.

Pixie made by Canova. I really like the Canova sculpts I've seen - they're very expressive. I'm glad to have finally added one to my HB collection.

PIxie cup lichen in the North Cascades. These also grow on a stump in our yard. They get up to about an inch tall.

Photo taken as a part of The Sutherland Shire's weekly Photo meet where we went in towards the city of Sydney and visited Newtown Cemetery where we met up wih our model, Pixie.
Thanks to Tony, who has much more experience with models than most of us do.
This is my very first time at taking model photo's and I was initially very hesitant, but thanks to Pixie for making our photography so easy, Pixie really knew how to use the camera lens to her benefit, this is only one image of some 600 I took that day and can honestly say there were very few throw aways.
Also there from our group were Alison, Carol, Tony, Stan and Justin, thanks guys for a great day. Check out some of the photo's we have posted here.
