What's Your Best Feature?
Some twenty-five or thirty years ago, some famous, busty actress or other was asked in an interview, "What do you believe is your best feature?"
"My back," she replied guilelessly. Yeah, right.
That out of my system, it may be quite true of my little starlet, Pixie. She has a lovely face and her sides are remarkable (hey, the Martians don't tag just any old dog, you know) but her back is rather special.
I took his sequence in mid-Spring when her coat was still long and full, her color patterns muted. She is in the habit of sitting with her back to me, in order to collect the odd stroke I might let drop her way. As if...
Excuse me -- Siegfried and Roy are on the phone again. Something about one of their white tigers missing a tail.
Remember Mia? Meet her new sister, Pixie Boo. Look at that face! I've dubbed her Ottawa's own Grumpy Cat. More photos of her to come! :)

Photographic wanderings for college. Kirsten is such a lovely model, I'm going to get my arse in gear and try and arrange to do some real shots with her soon
I have been toying around with the idea of a Pixie Shoe with a pointed toy for babies for quite a while now, and this is what I have come up with.
I just used some Linen scraps that I had floating around and it's worked out quite well (I think :-)
It's fully lined with all the interior seam hidden, so it's comfortable for a baby to wear.
I'll be trying out a few different fabrics, and maybe use one fabric for the lining and another co-ordinating fabric for the outer. I've also got a few ideas for screenprinting onto the fabric as well :-)
I might make larger sizes with non-slip soles in the future as well.
I might also add some sort of elasticised area at the back to help keep them on the feet more securely.
And yes, i think I will also try and make them in bigger sizes, for adults too!

Photo taken as a part of The Sutherland Shire's weekly Photo meet where we went in towards the city of Sydney and visited Newtown Cemetery where we met up wih our model, Pixie.
Thanks to Tony, who has much more experience with models than most of us do.
This is my very first time at taking model photo's and I was initially very hesitant, but thanks to Pixie for making our photography so easy, Pixie really knew how to use the camera lens to her benefit, this is only one image of some 600 I took that day and can honestly say there were very few throw aways.
Also there from our group were Alison, Carol, Tony, Stan and Justin, thanks guys for a great day. Check out some of the photo's we have posted here.
