Waterloo Tinplate works was opened in 1875 by the Waterloo Iron & Tinplate Company.
"The works are situated in a lonely but a most convenient and easily accessible spot and cover an extensive area of ground, a railway-siding running in close proximity. The buildings present an attractive appearance. . . . . The works are supplied with steam by means of Lancashire boilers. . . . .Two mills, each driven by a separate engine, and two sets of cold rolls are driven by a third engine.
The buildings are of a most substantial character, with plenty of spare room, surrounded by seven acres of land. They are so arranged that at a future date rails or plates may be rolled. . . ."
Housing was built for the workers in 1891, a terrace called Waterloo Row, which is where the name of the village comes from. Previously, it was Ty’n y Coedcae, a reference to a local farm.
Mills powered by electricicty by 1922
There were a number of aircraft component works in the area, Waterloo provided some of the materials.
The works closed during World War Two and became a 'Naval storage depot', unsure if this means munitions, or something else. The works never reopened. All equipment cleared from site in 1950s and has been derelict since. There seems to be some site clearing / tree felling and new fencing in the last couple of years, and currently used for sheep grazing.

The pics I took at the pixel workshop we attended in Kikucon. Basically it was a Hama-bead crafts-workshop with a fancy name but we had fun. :3 Volks Souseiseki or Yuffie belongs to Fyrd8th.
Pixel's DJ spins the tunes, illuminated by the projected anime on the wall behind him, coming from the projector on the ceiling. The DJ had to chase away one of the girls, who put on the headphones to pose for a picture taken by a friend.
“Funky Pixels” features creative connections between human and machine, between real and virtual space. It showcases artistic works that call upon those beholding them to bring their whole body into play.

I took the liberty to track this product down after seeing it on Strobist. I had my father go to Hong Kong and buy a set for me and 2 extra transmitters.
From my initial testings, it is very reliable as I can fire off the flash from the other side of my house.
What I find problematic is using a master on a transmitter. It takes a little while for the master TTL commands to travel so after the camera goes into hibernation, it takes 5-10 seconds before the master will start triggering optical slaves.
I tried to use the camera side illumination button to wake up the flashes, but it seems hitting the test flash button will ready the optical slaves and the radio triggers to go. But having to do that every time the camera goes into hibernation may not make using radio and optical triggers together not as reliable.
After playing around with it, what it seems like is a wireless TTL cord. on the radio triggers, when attached, it tricks the camera into thinking the flash unit you have on the receiver is actually on the camera. It separates the commands by setting on reciever on master or slaves.
For the price, they work wonderfully and if you don't try to mix radio and optical triggers, they are 100% reliable. Otherwise, if the opticals are working with the radio, it'll take them a little while for the optical and radio to sync after the camera goes into hibernation.
