Les championnats nationaux Honest Amish de barbe et de moustache ont eu lieu plus tôt ce mois-ci à Daytona Beach, en Floride, les plus beaux mentons poilus du pays se disputant les premiers prix.

La photographe officielle Elle Jaye était sur place pour capturer une série de magnifiques portraits des coureurs et des cavaliers ; Jaye a opté pour une approche simple et épurée, en photographiant ses sujets sur un fond noir avec un éclairage puissant, créant un ensemble d'images percutantes et contrastées.

The Honest Amish National Beard and Moustache Championships took place earlier this month in Daytona Beach, Florida with the finest hairy chins in the land vying for the top prizes.

Official photographer Elle Jaye was on hand to capture a series of magnificent portraits of the runners and riders; Jaye went for a simple pared-down approach, shooting her subjects on a black backdrop with strong lighting creating a set of punchy, contrasty images.

A look across the Nisqually River area at a roadside stop. What I loved about this view was the greens of the evergreen trees all around. Here I zoomed in a little bit to focus on the mountain peaks of the Tatoosh Range and the hillsides of evergreens seemingly all around. There just happen to be break in the clouds above, so I found the blues there a nice contrast to the greens of the trees.
