A look across the Nisqually River area at a roadside stop. What I loved about this view was the greens of the evergreen trees all around. Here I zoomed in a little bit to focus on the mountain peaks of the Tatoosh Range and the hillsides of evergreens seemingly all around. There just happen to be break in the clouds above, so I found the blues there a nice contrast to the greens of the trees.

This is one of my first explorations with the app Pixelmator - an app I quickly learned to love - one that will no doubt appear in many, many of my future works. I began this piece with a selfie I took in the car waiting for my son to come out from school. I explored the various tools, and especially the magical brushes in this app and arrived at this. I recall being at lunch with a friend some years ago - and noticed a table filled with women in red hats and purple attire - they were very enthusiastic and I was fascinated by them. This was pre-iPhone days, or I might have some very interesting photos of that lunch! I later learned of the Red Hat Society, which I suppose I am of age to join now, but I don't think I will!

Have you ever wondered what would happen if the scientific community confirmed that we were not alone in the Universe?

From Antiquity to the present day, Man has continued to question the existence of an extraterrestrial intelligence, coming from a planet other than Earth.

Already in the 7th century BC, the Greek philosopher Anaximander put forward the idea of a “cosmic plurality”, according to which the universe would include an infinity of other planets sheltering life.

An idea that has since gained ground, as evidenced by the numerous science fiction novels and films that exist today on the subject. "War of the Worlds", "E.T.", and more recently the blockbuster "Avatar" are, in fact, so many works of pop-culture having, year after year, shaped our imagination...

But what is it really?

Could the hypothesis of extraterrestrial life be verified in the months, years or centuries to come?

For the moment, no concrete proof has been able to be put forward, however scientists do not reject the idea.

On the contrary, many of them believe that given recent technological advances, man has never been so close to discovering proof of extraterrestrial existence!

But what would happen if that were the case and how would this encounter between our world and theirs take place, and what would be the consequences for our future?

You have your own idea on the matter, don’t the “artists”? 🤔

____________________________________PdF__________

A burning issue with building generative AI models is that many of them, like Midjourney, are trained using stolen images!!!

Obviously, this is a big deal for photographers, who are rightly embarrassed that a company was able to steal their work, create a product, and ultimately generate revenue...

However, I would like to point out that not all AI models are built with stolen content... but nevertheless, some are, and this bothers photographers 😡

Additionally, there could also be concerns that AI image generation could lead to an increase in “fake news” and misleading content.

Misleading images can have a real impact on personal safety and even on stock markets!

As AI continues to evolve in the world of photography, concerns demonstrate the urgent need to balance embracing technological advancement, safeguarding the work of creators, and maintaining the integrity of storytelling visual in this rapidly changing digital world...

It is to be hoped that we will be listened to and respected by strict rules and controls so that artificial intelligence never manages to manage our lives and our work 🤔

Astrophotographers will need to photograph Saturn's rings as soon as possible, as they will disappear in many ways after this summer !

Thus, they will soon become harder to see !

The planet's tilt will soon make the rings virtually invisible from Earth's perspective !

The most pressing problem concerns the angles!

Right now and through August, Saturn's rings are tilted downward at a 9 degree angle in opposition, making them very clear and easy to see !

However, next year the tilt will move them just 3.7 degrees.

By 2025, they will disappear almost entirely from Earth's view because the rim of the rings will be frontal from this vantage point.

After that it will be an incredibly long time before the rings are visible again and even longer until they return to the state they are in now.

They will continue to tilt to their maximum of 27 degrees by 2032 before slowly returning over the next decade and beyond !

Fortunately, before all that happens, Saturn's rings will first become their brightest and most visible next month.

As reported by Sky at Night, Saturn will reach opposition - the point where it is directly opposite the Sun from Earth - and will therefore peak on August 27, 2023 !

Tonight, and the nights beyond, will provide astrophotographers with the best chance of capturing Earth's rings !!!

Scientists are still weighing the data to determine the true age of Saturn's rings, which will also help them understand when they might be fading, but there is evidence that their current brightness is peaking and will only drop from here down and it could take millions of years...

So here is news for all those among the artists who love everything related to astrology... like in particular my friend Philippe MenHel@s-
