Creativity often builds from one medium to another, and British artist Jason Anderson knows this firsthand.
His artistic journey began in stained glass, when he worked on several restoration projects for cathedrals in England. Although he left the medium behind, it still shapes his style today.
Now a painter, he creates vibrant, abstract works filled with luminous colors and geometric forms that echo the glasswork tradition he came from ...
For comparison, this is a 9-photo, Hugin stitched, panorama of Skinner's Bluff overlooking the Slough of Despond shot last fall. On such a stunning day, many people were out to see the fall colours. A couple served as a subject and I shot this on a Canon SL3 with HDR bracketing. It turns out there was enough movement between bracketed shots that I just used the underexposed series, stitched, and brought back the exposure in Pixelmator Pro. There is a noticeable difference in the quality of the stitched product from the 2008 photo due mostly to the RAW photos from the Canon vs. the JPEG photos from the Panasonic Lumix.

Pipette wasn't like other dogs. Sure, he loved long walks and belly rubs, but his true passion was the newspaper.
Every morning, as soon as the first rays of sunlight peeked through the curtains, he'd race to the front door, his big, bright eyes fixed on the mailbox. With surprising agility, he'd jump, grab the paper in his mouth, and gently drop it at his owner's feet.
This ritual had become a tradition in the household. Pipette had started with simple games, bringing toys or sticks. But he quickly realized that the newspaper was the object that brought his owner the most joy. And what pleasure he took in seeing his human smile when he arrived with his precious cargo!
The neighbors were amused to see such a dedicated dog. Some even left him small treats as a reward. Pipette had become the neighborhood mascot, the little four-legged mailman who always knew how to bring a little cheer.
One day, the human mailman was on sick leave. Pipette, worried about not seeing his friend, stood in front of the mailbox, looking thoughtful. He seemed to understand that something was wrong. But when the new mailman arrived, Pipette greeted him with the same joy as always, showing that his dedication was not limited to one person, but to the mission he had given himself: to bring the newspaper every morning.
And so, day after day, Pipette continued his work, bringing not only news, but also a dose of happiness and tenderness to those around him.

°°°°°°°°°°°
A company asked for “a picture of a classic mid-20th century camera that has a large flash bulb.”
Imagen 3 on Gemini assigned the AI camera with the "Canon" logo !
It means users can generate pictures via the AI assistant in much the same way DALL-E operates on ChatGPT !
However, there is one catch: Users won’t be able to generate images of people 🤔

To capture lightning in photography, it is best to use long exposures in manual mode, a medium aperture (around f/8 to f/11), low sensitivity (ISO 100–200) to minimize noise, focus at infinity, and preferably a wide-angle or standard lens depending on the scene and the distance to the storm… a telephoto lens if the lightning is far away!
A tripod and remote shutter release are highly recommended, and remember to check your exposure after each shot !

Henri Cartier-Bresson is the most famous photographer associated with the photographic style of the "decisive moment".
The difference between a good picture and a mediocre picture is one millimeter", he once said!
For Ntagkas, he is influenced by street photographers such as Cartier-Bresson but most of all he says he is mainly concerned with doing something "completely different" every time !
“Street photography is more challenging, artistic and creative
than other forms of photography and I was very attracted to that,” he explains…
You will obviously understand that I agree with this talented photographer 😉

The foreground subject is a dilapidated jetty, which was built in the Second World War to allow gravel extracted from the nearby pits to be moved by boat.
The curved channel in the mudflat mirrors the trailing stars.

°°°°°°°°°°°°
Building out our energy storage infrastructure is also vital so that we can save excess renewable energy for when we need it.
Wind farms are essential in the fight against climate change and the push for a greener future. While many countries are embracing this sustainable technology, Ireland is leading the charge, with its wind farms generating 32% of the nation’s electricity.
