For Pixels' final 52 week photo I wanted something special. I wanted a full body shot, and something that showed who Pixel is. I think this photo does that. I love that her expression is soft- not the hard edged, excitement look that I tend to get. She is such a beautiful, smart little dog. I love her to pieces and am very lucky to have such a great dog.
Pixel won't be returning next year for 52 Weeks, I will be using one of my other dogs instead. You can still see Pixel in my photostream though, and on my blog. (http://manymuddypaws.blogspot.com)
I have created a blurb book of all of the photos and can't wait for it to arrive. This group has been just amazing, and I have definitely learned a lot about my dog, and my camera. I look forward to next year with one of the others (I haven't officially decided yet)
I imagine it all goes the same place.
Even the things that were never real.
It all goes on in the end.

Last night at 6pm I stepped outside to load the car for baseball and saw this beaming down from the sky. My first reaction was to run and grab the camera. It was a rare event for me and lasted only for 6 shots. As I stood in awe and felt the beams of light I waited for the message. Dusty is a simple man, apparently God is well aware of this and sent a simple, but stern message: “This is your last chance to change the windshield wipers on the car!”
I don’t make this stuff up! Yesterday I sent my wife to work in my car because hers was low on gas (my wipers suck). I wasted a divine message, it might have been: “The State Little League Championship is yours” or “14-26-32-34-44 are the winners for the $85,000,000 Powerball” but no, Dusty gets the bad wiper message!
So I’m off to the Auto Parts store to buy new wipers, it hasn’t rained in AZ for months but now I’m expecting a downpour!
For Chusie, 'coz you're so cute and stuff <3

Well... Im not sure its a dog running ahead. Im not sure in anything, because I DID NOT SEE any dogs or any subjects on that road ahead, it was empty when I was making this picture! Only when I've got the image on a screen, its appeared...:-)
Ok, you'll say Im again in a mystical mood... Probably... No pushing, decide yourself what you can see here ;-)
Now well - I would love to share the inforamation I've got from the website "Misterious Britain & Ireland":
There are various theories to explain the phenomena and they seem to have many common traits from sighting to sighting.
In appearance the phantoms vary from region to region, but it is not uncommon for them to be described as calf sized, with saucer eyes and a shaggy coat. Phantom dogs are not always black however, the one that is supposed to haunt the area around Cawthorpe and Haugham in Lincolnshire, is described as white, but still has saucer eyes and is as big as calf. The Cu Sith, the traditional fairy dog of Scotland is dark green in colour, with a shaggy tail up its back. Black dogs are more often than not associated with a specific location such as an old trackway or lane, this is sometimes reflected in the name of the routeway, although not every 'Black Dog Lane' has a tradition of the haunting.
There have been some attempts at classification; the folklorist Theo Brown divided the black dog phenomena into three separate types A, B and C. (A) Being a shape-shifting demon dog; (B) being a dark black dog calf sized with shaggy fur; and (C) a dog that appears in time with certain ancient festivals in specific areas of the country. Katherine Briggs, the renowned folklorist, splits these further into demon dogs, the ghosts of human beings and the ghosts of dogs in their own right............
........Black dogs often seem to haunt ancient lanes, trackways, crossroads, old churchyards and prehistoric sites. Many of these places were associated with local superstitions and the uncanny, they are liminal places, where the veil between worlds was thought to be thin. The haunts of the black dogs are also features said to denote ley lines, it has been suggested that they represent some form of energy or natural phenomena moulded by the mind into an archetype of the black dog. A great deal of work has been done by earth mystery researchers to suggest that certain geophysical conditions may affect the human mind. These places were recognised by ancient man, and that is why black dogs (as some form of archetype) appear at places of ancient sanctity. This same theory has been applied to other unexplained phenomena.
Gallows sites (often crossroads) were also common black dog haunts, the black dog was often seen as the spirit of the executed criminal, such as the dog said to haunt a gallows site in Tring, Hertfordshire: An old woman was drowned for witchcraft at Tring in the year 1751. ..........
.........Black dogs are also seen as guardians of treasure, especially in Scotland. A black dog was said to guard treasure buried under a standing stone near Murthley in Perthshire, here we have an account of a black dog at an ancient site and as a guardian of treasure........"

Pixels body is getting weirder everyday, he's hardly got any fat reserves, so his bones and veins show through, his belly is bloated and feels like a waterballoon. Other then that he eats well and is quite happy to be around us. His pills go allright, although I do get my fingers stuck between his strong jaws.
The image above is a 2000 X 1250 pixel scan from an original Kodachrome™ slide. Anything that is not from an original Kodachrome™ is noted as such, including later digital images and a limited number of scanned prints. The vast majority of Kodachrome™ shots were scanned during the period 2007-2014. As of 2022, there remains thousands of scanned, and unscanned images yet to go.
Early uploads were done in a 1024 X 683 pixel size. Since then, technology and software has improved, so I am beginning to re-upload in the much larger 2000 X 1250 pixel size, with the eventual goal of having only that format.
The images in the various galleries come mostly from my slide collection, gathered over the past 40+ years. They are a combination of my own photographs and others acquired over those years through trading, purchasing, and attending conventions.
This photostream was created in 2017 for the sole purpose of holding my slide collection as an archive, and has had over 10 million image views (to 2022)

Yep, I'm getting old. especially when my kids (both young adults now) want to come storm chasing with me. In fact my request, or Fathers Day present from my wife and daughter was for them ride along for that chase that day. No presents needed when I get to spend quality time with my family!
Storms were to fire in Northeast Nebraska that afternoon and everything on a boundary line from Norfolk Nebraska all the way back into south central Nebraska. We were planning on a trip out to eastern Nebraska for the chase. Though models for that afternoon had development just to the northwest of Kearney 2 hours before thunderstorm initiation.
Packed up the Gear and the Family and we headed out northwest to Riverdale Nebraska. In fact just a tid bit north of the village. Same place when my daughter and I caught one of my signature photographs of the decade back in 2011.
Warnings were issued, and a TVS marker was active just to the northwest of Amherst Nebraska. Just a hop skip and jump from Riverdale.
Just this one lone storm for us that afternoon. Didn't last long but sure was photogenic!
Close to home and I got to spend some precious time with wife and daughter on Fathers Day 2020! I honestly couldn't have asked for anything better!
