Hot Air Balloon Festival in Kanab Utah February 2022. I love going to the Balloon fests. Not only do I get to see the balloons floating in the sky but I also get to watch the crews get them ready to fly.

I have been working for a long time with filters that we can find in the urban space, here I am in a bus with a window covered with a grid . With a focus on this filter, large pixels appear. My eyes see what the sensor of my camera sees. A graphic pictorial exercise that I hope gives some space to poetry.If you don't mind, I advise you to look at this picture, as far away from your screen as possible for a better visual effect.

It was to good to be true, but right after sunset a secondary small non severe thunderstorm started to brew just to the southwest of Kearney.
Even though I just had a spectacular afternoon of some incredible stormscapes, I was in for a treat this night. An electrified thriller, one storm that I wont soon forget.

Hey ça fait un bail les amigos ! J'espère que tout va pour le mieux de votre côté.
On va faire un petit bilan de deux/trois petites choses :
Le Pixel 6 de Google est-il un bon appareil photo ?
Réponse : Oui et Non.
Sans aucune modification et en l'état, le Pixel 6 (et qui s'applique aussi au 7 d'après ce que j'ai lu) est un mauvais appareil photo. Pourquoi ? En cause son "over-processing" au niveau des photos, ce qu'il fait qu'il lest rend beaucoup trop "sharp" et donc inexploitable pour quelqu'un qui s(y connait un peu. Pour faire simple, leur logiciel interne retouche la photo pour la rendre le plus net possible, tellement net que ça en devient agressif à l'œil et supprime au passage tout travail artistique autour de la photo.
C'est dommage car il a tout ce qu'il faut sous le moteur pour faire de très belle photos. Son capteur en basse iso fonctionne à merveille et fait de très belles photos de nuits mais honnêtement je ne recommanderai pas ce téléphone. Samsung (vers les milieu/haut de gamme) s'en sort nettement mieux, les Huawei aussi.
Du coup j'en ai eu assez et j'ai pris le problème à bras le corps, c'est à dire que j'ai modifié mon smartphone en installant des logiciels "pirates" visant à remplacer l'application photo de base par une autre qui rectifie toutes les erreurs de "processing" cité en amont. Alors faut certes s'y connaître un tout petit peu car c'est nettement plus technique mais le résultat est ouf par contre. La photo ci-dessus n'a subi aucune retouche. Avec l'application de base, la photo aurait été gâché par du sharpening trop brutal. Je devais souvent aller sur Lightroom etc pour corriger le problème au détriment de la qualité d'image.
En contrepartie, j'ai perdu la qualité d'image en mode selfie, surtout lorsqu'il fait sombre mais honnêtement c'est un maigre prix à payer.
Le plus ironique c'est que les premiers Pixel de Google étaient des tueries niveau photos et c'est pourquoi j'étais partie sur ce type de modèle. Mon prochain dans quelques années sera probablement un Samsung ou en tout cas un avec une qualité la plus proche possible du format Raw.
Le fait que la puce Tensor transforme la photo pour la "magnifier" est peut-être top pour un débutant voire un "amateur" à ses débuts mais moi qui suis en plus adepte du full manuel sur mon reflex le gap était trop grand. Surtout que j'adore retoucher mes photos donc si quelqu'un est déjà passé avant y mettre son grain de sel, ça le fait pas.
Bref, à trop vouloir bien faire parfois on fait mal.
Rien ne remplace pour le moment un plein pied ou un reflex, surtout pour des photos au loin ou nécessitant une approche technique spécifique (vouloir jouer sur les ombres, le bokeh etc) mais la praticité de transport et la rapidité d'un smartphone photo c'est quand même le top.
