Late July 2023...
This month of storms was just down right jaw dropping. Why not continue since we didn't have any storms in May or June! Overtime for July is the way I like it!
90% of the time of year in South Central Nebraska is Hot & Humid. It is normally the beginning of our dry season. But not in 2023.
In the path of the Jet Stream that day that forced some severe thunderstorm development over south central Nebraska. We were not excepting anything super severe but a tornado or 2 is always possible this time of year.
Gear Primed & excited about the views I'm going to get for this event that day. I knew they were going to be photogenic.

There's something about the combination of both pink and blue colors from a single nebula that I find really interesting. This is the Trifid Nebula (aka M20) located in the Sagittarius Constellation near the core of our Milky Way galaxy.
For years shooting with a dslr camera, I saw this nebula appear really small against the vast Milky Way core. Now that I'm using telescopes and I can capture the rgb colors independently, the results are very different. With about two hours of total capture time using iTelescope's T32 wide deep field telescope based at the Siding Spring Observatory in Australia, I shot 24 images (over 3 separate nights of shooting) before processing them with Astro Pixel Processor and Photoshop.

The blacksmith lapwing or blacksmith plover (Vanellus armatus) occurs commonly from Kenya through central Tanzania to southern and southwestern Africa.
A common sight around water, including pans, lakes, rivers, dams, estuaries and salt pans, and also short grasslands, sports fields and wet pastures, Blacksmith Lapwings are noisy and conspicuous birds. They have a characteristic ‘tink tink tink’ or ‘klink klink klink’ call, which they make from the ground (where they spend most of their time searching for food or tending to chicks) or in flight. They can be found singly, in pairs or in small groups.
It is not difficult to recognise a Blacksmith Lapwing. Their plumage is boldly marked in black, white and grey, and they are unlikely to be mistaken for other species. They have grey and black wings, while the rest of the body and the head are boldly patterned in white and black - also the underparts. Females are on average bigger than the males, but both sexes generally look alike.
Photographed on a late evening game drive at the Athi Basin Dam in Nairobi National Park, Kenya.
I wanted to clean up what looked like dead pixels from the previous post. I realize my post work sucks with these shots but I will learn from it and get better.
As I ventured out to Palouse Falls to catch some Milky way shots I ran into a bit of bad weather. But not the bad that leaves you drenched with a shiver. This was more of a tingling with delight because the hairs on the back of your neck won't go down kind of bad! If you could even call it bad, maybe my choice of words didn't describe the awesomeness of this weather! haha ok enough, I had to wait for this two hour storm to pass by. It was my first time shooting lightning and at a difficult scene at that! I eventually got the hang of it and kept firing until it died off and I got what I came for. The milky way shined bright with a layer of clouds holding it up! Check out my previous post of the stars!

Dark, dramatic supercell clouds loom over a rural landscape, suggesting an impending storm. The contrast between the green fields and the turbulent sky creates a sense of intensity and anticipation.

It’s been a long time since I have attempted pixel art; I think the last time I did one was about 15 years ago.
This is a rather recursive picture.
I started with the word Dot on the screen of my PC. I photographed that and loaded it back into the PC and repeated the process.
When viewed Large, it is possible to see that each Pixel is multiple dots ;o)

Dark, swirling storm clouds dominate the sky, casting dramatic shadows over a vast, open field with hay bales scattered across it. A lonely road cuts through the landscape, leading the eye toward the horizon and the approaching tempest.

Pixel Prom 2016 was once again hosted by the lovely Harlow Heslop on the Blithe Sim.. Huge thanks for giving so many of a night to remember with our friends and loved ones each year! <33
Here are some snapshots I captured of the evening among the crowd of party-goers. Feel free to tag your friends!

One of the temporary light installations during the event "Lights in Alingsås 2020" – the theme of the year is "Find the Light". The pixels with slowly changing lights could be find in several places on "The Little Stream" and on lake "Gerdsken".
Designer: Jan Simon, Sweden.
Normally, every year in september/october, leading international lighting designers come to Alingsås to hold a week´s workshop. The participants come from different countries around the world. Together they light a number of locations around the town centre. Depending on the Corona virus, there was no workshop this year, and the light designers only came from Sweden.
