Now on the I-80 Interchange at the Elm Creek Nebraska Exit. This was forming just to my southwest as another tornado was on the ground right in front of me.
I could hear the trees being ripped out of the ground and they sounded like a thousand snapping toothpicks. I didn't have much time as I would soon learn that there were 2 tornadoes on the ground and not just one. This was just one of the several satellite funnels that were forming all around me at the time of these captures.

While I was shooting this photo, a guy came up to me, and said "Wow, you're really using a tripod for shooting photos? I am just shooting handheld using this." he said and showed me a DLSR camera. And I started to explain, how I shoot several exposures, and I mix them together using a computer, and to be able to do that, I have to have identical images. I also explained; some of the exposures are way too long to hold in hand and I have to use a tripod alone for that. And we talked for a little while, and I showed a few of my photos on my iPhone.

Montreal courthouse, on Notre Dame street. Built by architects David & Boulva, its windows offer interesting reflections of the sky and the clouds, creating an hypnotic effect.

I took this with my cellphone because I had a 500mm Prime lens on my Nikon and it wouldn't work. I asked this fisherman for permission to photograph him, he was extremely nice and cooperative. I told him he was a perfect model with all that equipment hanging off him for a trout fisherman and those sunrays and fog would be a big bonus. Not the resolution of a DSLR but I LIKE IT. I hope to see him again and give him a copy of this image. I've seen him many times before in this spot. It is worth enlarging just to see his vest of goodies, fishing net on his back, scissors near the fish and more. He was prepared and got there early ahead of the crowd.
I took this on June 29. I had a print made and gave it to him today 10/3. I had been carrying it in the car in case we saw him again. He was pleased.
The hurricane about this time last year wiped out part of this bridge when a huge old tree fell across it; it has been repaired. This island wildlife refuge is now full of piled up downed humongous old trees that fell during the hurricane. The ground was saturated before the hurricane even came and the wind took down many of the older trees.

Lion, (Panthera leo), large, powerfully built cat (family Felidae) that is second in size only to the tiger. The proverbial “king of beasts,” the lion has been one of the best-known wild animals since earliest times. Lions are most active at night and live in a variety of habitats but prefer grassland, savanna, dense scrub, and open woodland.
The male’s outstanding characteristic is his mane, which varies between different individuals and populations. It may be entirely lacking; it may fringe the face; or it may be full and shaggy, covering the back of the head, neck, and shoulders and continuing onto the throat and chest to join a fringe along the belly. In some lions the mane and fringe are very dark, almost black, giving the cat a majestic appearance. Manes make males look larger and may serve to intimidate rivals or impress prospective mates.
King Mpakasi, a young male lion in his prime, was photographed on a late evening game drive in the Nairobi National Park, Kenya.
