Banzai Pipeline in Oahu, Hawaii.
Surfer unknown.
In Oahu and drove up to the north shore of the island, in search of the kamikaze surfers. This was my third stop and I hit the jackpot. Great surf, and I was able to get into knee deep water to shoot the surfers up close.
Technical: D300s with 200-400/F4 lens.

The Pipeline was named in 1961 by a California surfing movie producer, Bruce Brown. He visited Oahu's North Shore and was scouting possible movie locations together with two California surfers, Mike Diffenderfer and Phil Edwards. They stopped at this yet unnamed surf site and Brown filmed the surfers catching several waves. They all agreed that the surf site needed a name.
Shot during a photoshoot with Joel Tjintjelaar and Armand Dijcks

There wasn’t much of a sunrise so I walked down to the pipeline to find the wildflowers blooming. It’s something to think about. An oil pipeline, in near-record heat and 15 days without hardly any rain. Nature will survive the human race.

I've been saving one of each cookie from most of my orders for a while... sometimes I forget though. :\ I believe I got this idea from Bea (Cancun Cookies) and I've been waiting to have a big enough collection worth photographing. :)
