I had the chance to make a trip over to Oahu to shoot some photos in the water....it was a good time !
The only time I can get a sunrise on the beach during the summer months is at low tide , a good sky and low tide do not coincide very often
The Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) includes the trans-Alaska crude-oil pipeline, 12 pump stations, several hundred miles of feeder pipelines, and the Valdez Marine Terminal. TAPS is one of the world's largest pipeline systems. It is commonly called the Alaska pipeline, trans-Alaska pipeline, or Alyeska pipeline, but those terms technically apply only to the 800 miles (1,287 km) of the pipeline with the diameter of 48 inches (122 cm) that conveys oil from Prudhoe Bay, to Valdez, Alaska. The crude oil pipeline is privately owned by the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company.
The pipeline was built between 1974 and 1977 after the 1973 oil crisis caused a sharp rise in oil prices in the United States. This rise made exploration of the Prudhoe Bay oil field economically feasible. Environmental, legal, and political debates followed the discovery of oil at Prudhoe Bay in 1968, and the pipeline was built only after the oil crisis provoked the passage of legislation designed to remove legal challenges to the project.

First swell of a past season, maybe 2008. As the sand still covering the coral reef bottom, the waves break as near the beach as they can. But still perfect Pipeline.

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away..
Ord Mantell is a planet in conflict for as long as one can remember. Today the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire fight for control of the planet.

MRL 4406 and 4408 start out of the yard in Missoula bound for Pipeline seen just west of the yard as they climb the hill out of town.
actually an aqueduct...
The Derwent Valley aqueduct is a spectacular piece of Victorian/Edwardian engineering. Treated water flows by gravity from Bamford Water Treatment Works in Derbyshire all the way to Hallgates Service Reservoir near Leicester through 180km of large diameter pipeline...
Shot with Canon Powershot G5 X. Build in flash was used to fill-light the pole, but I was surprised that the sign was reflecting like an artificial sun in the blue sky.
Ive shot this pipeline several times previously , but I cant resist doing it again !

I'd heard so much about this pipeline in my younger years as men from my hometown had found work on this system. The 800 mile long pipeline runs from Prudhoe Bay (North Slope) to Valdez Alaska. It was constructed between 1975 through 1977 and oil was then shipped to the continental US beginning in late 1977. It was constructed by the Alyeska Pipeline Company.
66149 passes Shell Junction, Teeside with the 1828 Boulby to Tees Dock potash working. Whether this traffic will survive the dual challenges of coastal erosion and the construction of a pipeline remains to be seen.
The major customers for the oxygen produced by the BOC plant on the left would primarily have been the various steel makers in the immediate area; these days it is provider of various industrial gases to a wider customer base. The pipes on the right define the northern edge of the Lackenby works.

Many years ago, the city of Los Angeles in need of water found a source in the Owens Valley, just east of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. They installed this pipeline to move water to downtown Los Angeles. I use my six-foot-tall wife as reference to show the size of the pipeline. The fertile Owens valley was turned into desert.
