We just had to have our Sewer line replaced and I really was fascinated by the mechanical engineering aspect and the equipment.
Quick jaunt down to Easington Beach last night, plenty of cloud movement so went for the Long Exposure. This was taken as far out to sea as I could safely get on the waste pipe looking back towards Foxholes.

Seen here at the pipe band championship in Belfast a few weeks ago. The Shiel buses vehicle was carrying the Oban high school pipe band. The coach is reg number K66 SBL and it is seen parked beside Plaxton bodied Volvo, WE60 EVE

so the idea for this started a few weeks ago when I was in the shop and saw a pretty sweet flash drawing of a sherlock holmes-style pipe on the wall. I joked around with chris that I needed to get that, but kept thinking about it. so yesterday while dave and I were working on my arm, he told me that Chris would be leaving the shop soon and moving back to Florida. I figured I had to get something done by him before he left the shop for good, so I asked him to draw me up a sweet looking pipe. this one is based off of one we found in a victorian era catalog. kind of weird, and I'm sure I'll have to explain it to people over and over again, but I really love it. we also laughed because I decided to put it right next to the torch that Chris Stuart did on my shin, so now the two Chris' can hang together on my leg forever and be BFFLs.

Despite visiting Crosby Beach to photograph the statues, I still ended up finding myself stood on top of a sewage pipe* for this shot. Only one chance for the picture as the tide was incoming below me, but I'm pretty pleased with how it worked out. The tripod was precariously placed on one of those horizontal blocks while I teetered on the pipe. It'll all go wrong one day :) When I get round to it, I'll put some more pics of the statues up.
* it might not be a sewage pipe. I've no idea really.
37718 'Hartlepool Pipe Mill' at Hodge Lane,on the chord between Hartford CLC Jct and Hartford Jct, awaiting a signal and route on to the WCML. This working was a Sheffield AIdwarke to Halewood Fords sidings empty wagons, which would return with scrap from the Ford factory for processing, presumably the bits left over after making Ford Escorts!
The translucent, waxy pipe of Indian Pipe (Monotropa uniflora) is unique. It has a single nodding flower that turns dark with age. The leaves are scale-like.
