Inside a steel pipe for a natural gas pipeline called EUGAL (North-East-Germany), diameter 1,40 meter, length approx. 18 m, length of the pipline approx 480 km.

One of the two pipes recently installed in the playground next to the school across the road. If you talk into the pipe it can be heard out of the other one several meters away. I've seen both children and adults testing it.

Night star trails shot of Oil pipe Druzba crossing creek in South Slovakia. One of those few objects catching my eyes since I was a child. In the middle of nowhere. Haven't seen anybody around ever. No interest. It was just me and my thoughts of perfect, dangerous playground. How should I know at that time how huge this thing was. Not just physically.
With the length of pipe system around 5500 km connecting oil fields in western Siberia with central Europe. Connecting and separating people at the same time.
I liked the contrast between all the beautiful shrines and temples around, to this rusted, industrial pipe just sticking out of the wall there.

I received word last night that the Keokuk Junction ABA F-units would be leading an extra pipe train across the ex-TPW from Mapleton to Keokuk today. I thought about going after it and pulled the trigger this morning, taking half-a-day off. Thanks to some more timely updates, I was able to make a bee-line to the Spoon River bridge at Seville, IL and bag my first runby.
This shot has really opened up since the new bridge went in and those two ex-ATSF GP20s didn't look half-bad either!
