if like this man you enjoy smoking a pipe, you should do it while you still can because the finger wagging, self righteous, we-know-best brigade are sure to want a total ban on smoking before long and there's nothing british governments of all persausions like more than a few new laws and of course the fact that westminster is infested with lawyers has nothing whatsoever to do with this.
in 2010 the uk parliament introduced 3,506 new laws, mind you we don't come close to the usa where over 40,000 new laws were intoduced in 2011.

Took the best part of 20 minutes painting but came out with a good result!...If only my camera didn't have to do a further 20 minutes processing after :(
We just had to have our Sewer line replaced and I really was fascinated by the mechanical engineering aspect and the equipment.

I just cut out some cardboard, painted it, put paper over the back and then used the mats I make sushi with as the flooring. Voila! A little Japanese room for the Japanese outfit. The longest part was actually just graphing where to cut with a ruler and exacto knife. :P
Quick jaunt down to Easington Beach last night, plenty of cloud movement so went for the Long Exposure. This was taken as far out to sea as I could safely get on the waste pipe looking back towards Foxholes.

Work starts tomorrow and I'm not sure I'm going to be anywhere near over jet lag. I've been constantly sleepy for the past two days.
With no real energy, all I could manage today was a quick walk around some of the fields near our house. We live on the very edge of Yokohama, so there is some small-scale agriculture edging the suburbs. I don't know the purpose of all this pipe, but it does make an intriguing design.

so the idea for this started a few weeks ago when I was in the shop and saw a pretty sweet flash drawing of a sherlock holmes-style pipe on the wall. I joked around with chris that I needed to get that, but kept thinking about it. so yesterday while dave and I were working on my arm, he told me that Chris would be leaving the shop soon and moving back to Florida. I figured I had to get something done by him before he left the shop for good, so I asked him to draw me up a sweet looking pipe. this one is based off of one we found in a victorian era catalog. kind of weird, and I'm sure I'll have to explain it to people over and over again, but I really love it. we also laughed because I decided to put it right next to the torch that Chris Stuart did on my shin, so now the two Chris' can hang together on my leg forever and be BFFLs.
