Wow, what a weather, it's nearly storm here, very very windy😁
This extreme weather is called Aina in Norway and will be a full storm during this night! Lots of rain and wind is hitting the coast!
Lake Catani is a man-made lake on top of Mt Buffalo in Victoria, Australia. It was constructed in 1910 for recreational purposes - swimming, boating and fishing in summer and ice-skating in winter.
This photo was taken just after sunrise, and it was absolutely freezing cold with frost covering the rocks and the grass and within minutes the legs of my pants were sopping wet nearly to my knees.
The filter protecting the lens quickly misted up and it was a case of take one photo, wipe the filter. . .repeat.
On the skyline is the rock formation and lookout known as The Monolith which is 1,464 metres (4,800 feet) above sea level.
The first photo I got on Anzac Day morning at Torquay Beach while heading out to my favourite spot on the point. It was too good to pass up so
I snapped a couple of exposures combined into this one for a better dynamic range without using any filters (there was no time!)
Ahhh, what to post, something from today, nah, this one from last November, been wanting to post it for awhile. This was taken a little North of Weed California, and from a scene view point that has a beautiful view of the valley and Mount Shasta. This isn't Mount Shasta obviously, actually as I took this Mount Shasta was at my back. One thing I always like to do when the sun is setting is look at the sky opposite of the sunset. I love seeing the sunset colors reflecting off clouds in that direction. Not as wild or dramatic, but softer and often more pinkish.
On my way to Hermiston Oregon, always good to have Los Angeles behind me. I love the route I'm taking, mostly US-395, lots of mountains, open range, and only small towns along the way. Hopefully some photo opportunities tomorrow, praying for nice clouds.
View of the town from out the front of our holiday rental house in the evening. We had a good weekend with really nice weather conditions both days my wife and I stayed in Lorne.
A new week ahead in my SnowGlobe World☀
Amazing sunrise this morning.
It looks like Mother Nature is having a New Years AfterParty.
Wait for Meeeee😆, I'm coming too ❤
While everyone directs their cameras towards predictable clichés, I often turn my attention in the opposite direction to observe the hidden gems we might otherwise overlook. This 'wrong way' approach sometimes leads to the discovery of remarkable images, much like this one.
The sun was gracefully descending behind Mount Coot-tha in the west, creating a captivating, almost red, radiance that blended with the blue hues of the eastern sky. As a result, the city behind us was bathed in a breathtaking pink glow. Even the typically mundane brown river took on a new, temporary charm, transforming its appearance for a few precious minutes.
“The sky, a perfect empty canvas, offers clouds nonetheless. They shift and drift and beg interpretation... such is the nature of art.”

Nanya geological Scenic Area, Rueifang, New Taipei City~
The northernmost tourist site in the scenic area, Nanya is noted for its fantastic rock formations and sea-eroded coral shore. The entire coastline here is a veritable sculpture garden that illustrates, in stone, the incomparable artistry of weathering and wave action. The patterned stone topography of Nanya, unique in Taiwan, was formed through the weathering of the sandstone that lines the shore. The oxidation of iron ore within the striations of the stone has given it a beautiful striped pattern.

Lest we forget. An amazing morning morning that was as stunningly beautiful as it was moving. The tide was super low with perfect surf and a perfect sky to match. I wanted to keep this as natural as I could so the shadows are left dark. The exposure is my longest yet at 10 - minutes with a 10-stop neutral density filter and circular polariser to cut reflection and fully capture the movement of the slow moving clouds above.
Shortly after sunset in the winter months, a phenomenom known as "The Blue Moment" occurs in Finland.

I liked this version for the pink cloud, but no path to lead you into the image :( Unlike the one I posted last week. This here was taken on the same evening from the same spot.
Splash of wildflower colors. Arrived just in time for the last rays. The here and now is always fleeting and transient.
I thought I heard some chains moving around too...... 👻👻
Not always easy to take shots in the darkness when Aiko keeps messing with the leash😅😁😂
October sunset as viewed from Oh Ridge. Oh Ridge is a high point on the west side of the lake, it is accessible via a rutted dirt road climbing about 500 feet. From here you get this great view of June Lake, Carson Peak and an awesome sunset.

A Royal Sunset.... Back in July I loved how how the setting sun illuminated this streak of clouds above the Royal Cresent rendering them all sorts of yellows, oranges and finally pinks... Just glad I was there with hundreds of others to capture it 😍
Some people say that this full moon is the last full moon of the decade. However, there are those that argue that it occurred last December 2019. (See my post in the comments) At any rate, it's also known as the Cold Moon or the Long Night Moon. I caught it on Monday night just before it was actually full surrounded by puffs of pink clouds at sunset.
Pink on Blue in Blue Hour. No. 2 of Colour Palette series - Thank heavens literally. Explored, Jul 3, 2022.
At Heaven's Gate you will find a series of interesting stone sculptures created by the sculptor Paul Norris. In the right light the crystals and metals embedded within the stones are reflected meaning the stones appear to glow. I caught this sunset by chance February 2022 whilst out for a family walk.
The gothic West Front of Wells Cathedral - with c.300 carved figures - in medieval times was painted vibrant colours.
😀 I just love saying that 😂
There is so much optimism in these words.
And, check to the right by the wretched line on the sky, even the sky gives us a smile today.😆
I'm on a weekend trip to Fredrikstad, there is absolutely no snow here.
And I realized that morning to light is difficult to catch.
A place where time stood still, Carrasqueira is the most traditional quaint village in the Comporta Estate and the Cais Palafitico which takes you back to times when fishermen set sail to their destination. The small wooden houses and footbridges are very old, all made of wood that have seen better days. Some of the boards are loose and wobbly with cracks and gaps in between yet nothing to deter you from walking the paths adventurously. As we arrived earlier, the low-tide transformed to high-tide before our very eyes, giving shape and glory to the magical wooden poles and their reflection on the golden water. What a bliss!
