I love everyones fall photos!! :) I have no rhyme or reason to my fall photography. I just like to play with nature and photograph it the way I see it. The big and the small <3

Did you know that pinecones can protect their seeds by closing their scales against wet and cold, and opening to release them when it is warm and dry?
Hopefully, there aren’t many places with snow like this, yet. I’m sure we’ll get plenty soon enough.

Colorado Springs, CO - We returned for one more look at the owlets right about dusk and were not disappointed. This little one had ventured out onto a branch to get a better look at all of the funny people staring his way. Perhaps this owl was amused by those who chose to stand in the road to gain a closer look but the Colorado Springs Police Department was not as the reward for such behavior turned out to be traffic citations ...

For my Take Aim group the challenge was to do something that you don't normally do. I rarely take a macro shot. Why? No patience for it and get sick of so many deletes for one lousy photo. Pretty much went like that this time. But I did get this one!

Een kegelvrucht of zaadkegel is bij veel coniferen meestal een met schubben afgezette verhoutende vrouwelijke kegel of strobilus met zaadknoppen of zaden. Het gaat dus niet om een vrucht zoals die bij de bedektzadigen uit een vruchtbeginsel gevormd wordt.
Not as bright as a beet, not as colorful as the rest of fall... but I still find them interesting. I like the repeating patterns.
