Third Eye Pinecones in the making

Seeds from this pod can grow trees to be 150 foot tall.

Christmas card! Needs more greenery though.

Tiliqua rugosa (shingleback skink, etc) photographed at Bold Park, Perth Western Australia. This species has a great range of common names. Blue toungues are cool lizards and the Wikipedia entry for this species is rather interesting. Apparently this species is monogamous.

My most favorite picture I have shot. EVER.

Pinecones

Red Wing Park

Virginia Beach, VA

January 2011

To take this shot I used my 17 - 85mm IS Lens with a 10 x Macro Filter attached. This is the first time I have properly tried using the filters and I have to say I am really impressed with them. I think they are great value if you can't afford a dedicated macro lens - the only problem is seeing how these shots have turned out just makes me want a macro lens even more!

This shot is of a pinecone, I took a few different shots at different angles but this was the one I liked the most.

My first pictures taken with my new camera - Panasonic FZ50.

Looking forward to suggestions and improvements.

So much for the pine cone. Will do some colour shots later, probably... Works quite well in BW though. Moving on...

High contrast shadow does not look too good.
