My first attempt at making a picture frame. I followed the instructions here: ana-white.com/2009/12/plans-barnwood-frames-1-and-10-minu...
Left to right: Julie (my sister), Joy (my cousin), & Myself. All of which live 100-over1000 miles away yet we all have similar hair styles. Spikey in the back and shaped in the front. This picture was taken at our Reunion for 2008.
I made this frame with decorating my scrapbook room in mind. This is the kind of stuff that I am going to hang from my rail system.
Supplies used:
BE Elements Picture frame
Paint
Hambley
Bazzil Scalloped Paper
KI Memories Lace Paper
Thickers
Doodlebug Chipboard Sparkley Letters
Love Elsie: Frames, Rub-ons, Epoxy Stickers, Ribbon all from the Toby Line
NOTE TO SELF: NO ' NEEDED IN GIRLS, I WILL CHANGE THE ORIGINAL.
Made for a friend. Made of old South American Mahogany reclaimed from a door jamb removed from a house undergoing renovation. I don't know why someone would replace such a beautiful piece of wood, but alas they did and I turned it into picture frame stock. The glass is also reclaimed from discarded window sashes. Scraped cleaned and cut to shape it makes really fine glass. Its only other fate is the landfill. The only new materials are the backer paper, biscuits, glue, varnish, and the hanger.
I love reclaimed materials but love to make them beautiful (not really wild about rustic look) but I love to leave artful clues about the material's origins....The nail holes for example reveal the fact it is reused lumber . It came out really pretty and will last for many years.
soo once again, i can't take credit for finding this shot! my mom's fiance, joe, was walking around the house and when he found this he was like "KELLEY KELLEY COME HERE!!"
so thanks joey! :)
by the way, that ugly white stripe through the left middle of the picture is where our couch used to rest on the wall. it peeled the paint off a bit when we moved it :(
by the way!!! it took so long for me to put this up because i stayed at home over the weekend, and i left my laptop at school. i prefer to save pictures to my laptop (cause i'm just picky like that) so i didn't upload them until yesterday. also, the reason i haven't uploaded days 11-14 yet is because i'm shooting a week's worth of pictures on my dad's film camera. i'll be putting those up on sunday, hopefully! i have this fantastic fear that i loaded the film wrong and nothing will come out... i hope that fear is totally misplaced.

Time after time I renew my bedroom. A couple of days ago I painted it in this purple color and installed this ikea picture frame
While screwing around with my camera, I accidentally snapped this and thought it was cool. This is the cover of one of those album/frame things that is in my living room ith wedding pictures in it.
A picture frame that I invented, again through the process of "doodling" (VERY scientific term there...)
This was some really nice duo foil and I kind of wish I didn't "waste" it with this.
