Here is my Digital Picture Frame. It's a simple design but it works great with little work.
It's running a Dell Inspiron 5000. I just removed the benzel around the LCD and flipped it on it's back. I still have the full keyboard and touchpad and all of it's drives attached. The battery's even in there for blackouts :)
This is a frame I made for my friend Eric from maple and bubinga. The picture is a collage of Flint and the newspaper clipping on the back is about the artist.
Matt Talley used D. Lawless decorative hinges to help his class create these beautiful picture frames. He sent along this message as well: "Each year my budget gets a little tighter and it becomes difficult to purchase all of the supplies for projects. My enrollment continues to go up while the budget seems to decrease. This certainly helped stretch the budget a bit further.
Thank you so much for your very generous discounted price!"
Great Job Guys!

This is the view from the upstairs window, the light contrast was too high for good photos.
It was good to have a little house and go buy food as we discovered swedish roadside food is a disaster. It is mostly American fast food or Swedish imitations, and our kids don't like fast food hamburgers.
I made this for my Dad's birthday a few years ago. The images are from the family home in Upstate NY. I colorized them, printed them out, and decoupaged them onto the frame. Inside the frame are bottle caps from a kind of soda Dad used to drink when he was there.
I'm a doraemon fan. He's the cutest thing in the world. Btw, that's me in the picture frame. Yes, I look like a guy. Yes, my mom dressed me up as a soldier.

Made for a friend. Made of old South American Mahogany reclaimed from a door jamb removed from a house undergoing renovation. I don't know why someone would replace such a beautiful piece of wood, but alas they did and I turned it into picture frame stock. The glass is also reclaimed from discarded window sashes. Scraped cleaned and cut to shape it makes really fine glass. Its only other fate is the landfill. The only new materials are the backer paper, biscuits, glue, varnish, and the hanger.
I love reclaimed materials but love to make them beautiful (not really wild about rustic look) but I love to leave artful clues about the material's origins....The nail holes for example reveal the fact it is reused lumber . It came out really pretty and will last for many years.
