and it's by no means an original one, but for years I've had this idea of using a window as a picture frame. So ... I recently acquired a couple of old windows from a dear friend, and I had 24 x 36 prints made of a couple of pictures I wouldn't mind looking at. This is one of the plethora of pictures that have been taken of downtown Portland, one I took this past December, and it's mounted temporarily behind the window. So if and when it gets completely finished and mounted on a wall, I'll get to see this view whenever I wish to...

Here is my second attempt at a glass gem mosaic picture frame. as before I used a picture frame with a mirror surround as a substrate but this time for a 3x3 inch picture. Two rows of glass gems were used rather than three and this time the gems do not overlap leading to a much more level edge which makes it stand much easier.
