Michelle's co-worker Ian gave us the scoop on DIY plexiglas floating picture frames. So we made 4 of them this weekend. Total pain in the ass, but they look great.

I attached a pretty pink satin ribbon to the frame.
It measures 8 3/4" x 10 3/4". The frame will hold a 4" x 6" picture.
Look how beautiful it is. I went to the antiques shop with my mum and found this beautiful frame and picture. I adore little things like this.

I was talking to some of my former teachers the other day, and it's crazy how old I am. I'm about to graduate from high school. I'm almost 18 years old. My teacher reminded me that each new year should be celebrated, and never regretted. Each day, week, month, year is a gift, and we're lucky to have each one, because we never know when our life will end. I'm 17 and I'm proud of my life. Are you proud of yours?

Apparently it's the largest in Europe, but I must admit it didn't seem all that great to me. Maybe I needed to be there right at the crack of dawn.
Kandace drew the flowers, and I painted them in and added the leaves and vine. The photo of my daughters in the frame is when Kandace was 4 or 5, and Kristina was 9 or 10. About 1996.
First test FZ1000 photos with my brand new camera. So far I am delighted with it. Great EVF and fast focus.
In order to achieve this effect, I had to flip the photo so the wording reflected in the mirror will show in the right direction. Once I did that I also reversed (swapped) the colors of the photo, to get some unreal atmosphere.
The true colors are light yellow-orange on the wall (as it was lit with tungsten) and green for the Exit sign.

Taking advantage of a picture frame that someone erected at Riverside Park in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Within the frame is the towboat Cooperative Ambassador pushing a string of barges down the Mississippi River.
Working on making simple, but more detailed furnishing type things - starting with a picture frame - I'd have glass over the painting and matte, but it doesn't really add anything - can't do transparency + shine to get it right. Image is just to show how it works in practice.
A "do it yourself" digital pictureframe I made from an old IBM Thinkpad 600 laptop. The project was inspired by this guy's version I found online www.tacosntonic.com/pictures/Projects/Digital Picture Frame/
Don't mind the unsightly power cord, this was taken during the initial wall hanging and test.
The frame/laptop is equipped with a USB wifi card and automatically updates the pictures from my flickr account using the screensaver "Slickr". I also installed a VNC program so I can control the laptop remotely if I need to.
If you have an old laptop kicking around thats to slow for anything else I'd suggest making a similar project.
Corner of picture frame in our guest bedroom. The print is a watercolor from Prague, a cityscape scene. I was just playing around with the new camera - the blinds are usually closed to protect the print from direct sunlight.
May 2008 - I finally tossed this framed picture taken from military housing for the Royal Saudi Navy.
I comment about my life and opinions in my eJournal and images every single day.
Note: The top part of the frame (where all the blinky lights normally are) has been removed because a) I want to ensure that it remains relatively cool back there, and more importantly, b) I have very few screws currently holding the whole thing together allowing for easier dismantling, so it's just a matter of popping the keyboard off and a simple disconnection underneath to untether the screen.

Here is my third attempt at a glass gem mosaic picture frame. as before I used a picture frame with a mirror surround as a substrate but this time for a 3x3 inch picture. Two rows of glass gems were used rather than three and this time the gems do not overlap leading to a much more level edge which makes it stand much easier.
I used a more elaborate design this time with glass heart shapes for the corners, two rows of glass and some half glass gems in between. The hearts are something I will definitely be utilising again as they give a much firmer edge to the frame.
Look what i found in the woods today.... Someone hung a picture of zombie. At closer look it was a picture frame floating in mid air. GASP!!!
